I can see that we might not want to block the path of 1/4th and CCV and that by signing Evans we get a short term deal for an experienced, seasoned international in the way that we have done with Fernando Lloreren.......... Oh ****.
£3m for Jonny Evans is ridiculously cheap, it would’ve been cheap pre inflated market let alone now at a time where one CB went for £75m! No brainer in my eyes, especially IF Toby does go. It’d add much needed experience to support Jan and Dave. Foyth could probably do with a loan next season but we’d have CCV back to challenge for spots anyway.
I love a chicken curry. My favourite is Chicken Dhansak. So much do I love it, that if I'd had boys, instead of 2 girls, I was going to call them Dan and Zak. True story.
I used to work at French company with an Indian guy whose surname was Aloo. When I casually let slip to the rest of the team that Aloo in Indian means potato the poor guy was referred to as Mr Potato forever after.
When I worked for London Underground, we had an African intern start who said that her name was Kuntarla, 'but most of my friends call me Kunty', we were horrified until a quick thinking colleague said, 'we will just call you 'Kay'.
I doubt they are paying 40% . If anything La Liga larceny starting XI suggests some footballers may be paying SFA tax due to "creative accounting" on stuff like "image rights" .
Yes it was a before tax total ... seriously ... £60m before tax is plenty to keep a players family in the life of luxury, and his children's and his grand children. Particularly considering all the tax loop holes their accountants would use... and like I said my calculations on these wages and bonuses are seriously conservative.
Don't most footballers setup a company or something which they get paid through thus NOT paying income tax and NI? Sure John ''spit" Terry did something like this and so only presumably paid Corporation Tax?
What is known as a "personal service company" (PSC) . Typically one director, who is also the sole employee and shareholder. Which in theory means you could take all revenues as dividends. But you still end up paying 40% tax like that. They would pay 150K pa salary in order to pay an equivalent amount tax-free into a pension. To get even lower taxes, then you enter the dark realm of tax avoidance
Another downside of Brexit - we lose that free movement around Europe For once I'm almost grateful for an International Friendly. If he does play, for Belgium (or Netherlands) at least we'll have a better idea if he can make the bench against the Chavs.
