Schurrle deal agreed. It's on the CFC website. Thoughts...

Whilst he's not a new signing it seems De Bryune will now be here next season. Good decision, looks a good lad.

Telegraph are reporting that Napoli have accepted a £49.3m offer from Chelsea for Cavani.
Apparently the deal was originally reported by Napoli's official radio station. Nothing on SSN but Chelsea are now odds on favourites to sign Cavani (SkyBet).
Another £50m striker?? Hope it works out this time!!

won't believe till it's on CFC but if true then I'd rather we went for Lewandowski who is imo a better player and would've come far cheaper.

Agreed but I suspect we must know he'll sit out his contract thus leaving in a year for nothing or force Dortmund to let him go for a fee to Bayern this year. Nothing else would explain why he hasn't signed to an English or Spanish club already. At 25 odd million, he is a steal.

Re Cavani, brilliant player but I will believe it when I see it. One paper said United were bidding now so it's very much up in the air.

I did hear that Dortmund were looking to sell abroad but maybe Lewandowski has his heart set on Bayern. Either way Cavani is world class and I won't complain but Lewandowski would've been a better buy.

Independent now running the same story. They've also claimed that he'll earn just under £140,000 per week. So quite a costly addition (if true!). However, compared to Rooney who would expect to earn £250,000 p/w and would cost £25m, it would actually work out as a cheaper option over 5 years!
Would, like most of you, prefer Lewandowski but can't see him going anywhere apart from Bayern. As far as established strikers go; is there any better than Cavani (who is available) at the moment?

tbh 140,000 is better than I expected! However I never ever believe anything the papers print about wages as they usually know **** all. but you are right, other than Lewandowski there is no better striker than Cavani.

If £49.3m is potentially the difference between us winning nothing and winning and/or the Premier League/CL than I'm all for it.

I think it's BS though, radio stations always stir up ****e.

Kane back to Blackburn after signing a new Chelsea contract in the Spring and Saville obviously can't do without his Mum's cooking as he goes to Brentford this time instead of Millwall.

Saville seemed to be on the verge of fighting for a squad position, then in came Jose. I had a count (after the four releasees) and I think we have 29 in the squad of 25. Have to check on the age of some if they they are under 21.

A lot of stuff being said about us agreeing a fee for Cavani but I won't believe it until the club announces the signing.

However we have signed André Schurrle today so I guess that's good news!

Even if the fees agreed doesn't mean the player wont reject us either - seems he would prefer Madrid.

    Cavani for 50m + 140k over next 3 years = 71m

    Torres sell for 18m + 175k over next 3 years = 45m

So we shell out 26m for an improvement on our striker
