Damned whether the club supports him or pulls the rug from under his feet. Once he has served his time (and I think he should be made to serve the full term for his crime, not same half baked goody goody part sentence) then I think the club should support his rehabilitation... where better than the original 'family club'? I think the Pozzo's will seek to maximise their return on him be it by selling at an acceptable price or getting him back scoring goals and working for the team in a promotion push. It does not look as though they will just wash their hands of him, they are far too pragmatic for that. Unplatable business whatever happens.
What he did was wrong, but everyone deserves a second chance, (unless he killed someone). so i think watford have made the right choice if they let him stay
Maybe we could convert him to a CB and add a bit of steel to the defence - after today's effort, we need it.
Well I think the sentence was quite severe anyway, but fortunately for us he's likely to be let out early and be back in the side, probably before the new year.
Sorry Lux, cannot possibly agree with you over the severity of his sentence. Stone cold sober TD was, the victim was on the ground and pretty much defenceless, a professional footballer who can obviously kick harder than most of us mere mortals then kicks him in in the head. TD is very lucky not to be on a murder /manslaughter charge. Whether there was provocation is irrelevant by then as the violence goes from reactionary to gratuitous. The sentence may seem harsh in the light of other crimes and punishment but then I think these crimes are rarely punished properly.
So any more news on this one? I'll be glad to have him back playing ASAP. Then garner can go out on loan to Welwyn Pegasus. lol.
