Not the most thrilling thread, but can you settle an argument here for me (those that are somewhat more ITK about such things). Liverpool fan saying that Twatbeard's new contract at Saints was £35k a week, and that he's now, at Liverpool on around a £45k p/w contract. I'm speculating that both of those figures are way too low. Any ideas?
Lallana was on about £40k and is now on about £60k, isn't he? But yes, those figures sound too low.
I thought Lallana was on around 50k at Saints. I know he was one of the highest earners here. Morgan is on 40k so more then that anyways.
Remembered seeing it as 100k pw, only source for this seems to be the Sun http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...Liverpool-as-Luke-Shaw-signs-for-Man-Utd.html If you sign for £26m, it's not unreasonable to expect a 6 figure salary - for a 5 year contract, 100k IS 26m in wages, I.e. they are spending 52m total over 5 years half on wages half on fee (not accounting for add-ons and other variables).
I take all these figures as pure speculation. Players are unlikely to broadcast the obscene amounts they are paid, and clubs would want to keep it quiet as it's private and could cause disruption and problems of morale. Therefore, unless someone has proof, it's all supposition and guess-work. I will venture with certainty that's it's a lot more than I earn though.
£70k according to the article below which says it was updated yesterday I would assume that when he signed his NEW contract with us he would at least have been put at least on par with Gaston, I assume as captain he would have been given a bit more. http://www.goal-news.com/2014/07/adam-lallana-salary-net-worth/
Lallana was paid in Gold Shield Stamps at Saints. You'd often see him down East Street, opposite Debenhams, swapping them for a new Patio set or the latest wonderous Ronco product. Now he's at Liverpool, I believe he's paid in the souls of orphan children.
What was the transfer fee for Lallana? I thought around £25m but every time a twitter page mocks the Lallana and Kroos fees Liverpool fans nibble and say they only paid £16m?
I like that clause. I like to have all my first-teamers on the same wage like some sort of socialist football club. Do FC St Pauli do that? I bet they do that.
