Reading reports Gnonto was well off the pace and Joseph stole the show. He just seems to be a goal magnet throw him on against Fulham
There's an old, old related Partick Thistle story that apparently is true. They were playing Rangers at home donkey's years ago, when the ball was going out for a goal kick (or bye kick as it was then). Rangers players were nowhere near it, so to save time, the defender picked up the ball & threw it to the goalie. Sadly for him, the ball hadn't quite crossed the line, and happened inside the penalty box! The ref blew for a penalty, having been put in that position by the over-zealous linesman (bias, moi?). Everyone complained & a right rammy ensued. The decision stood. The Jags goalie took up his position - arms folded, leaning on the post, shouting abuse at the shameful Rangers player about to take the penalty. It worked! The Rangers player tapped the ball towards the goal, the goalie shot across the line, picked it up, humped it up the park, & the Jags scored! True story, related on radio by Craig Fergusson. He also told a wartime Jags story that I can't remember fully, other than the most unusual tannoy message to a pitch invasion. How many times have you gone to a match to hear the announcement: "Ma tatties! Ma tatties! Get aff the Ds. Ah've planted spuds there!" This referred to the giant semi-circles that were once common behind goals.
gnonto kept slipping over… so did klaesson actually. There’s been a lot of rain up here recently. Gnonto also got clattered on numerous occasions. It was a really gusty day - and the pitch was open to the elements. Not a day for pretty football. Joseph didn’t touch the ball in the first half. Took his goals well though. Has something about him. nothing was coming off from Perkins though he looked like he has something about him. Our central defence looked shaky. Drameh looked good. Klaessen looked solid, bar the aforementioned slipping and one moment when he nearly let a shot from range slip through (prob the wind) No one really stood out but a wins a win.
McKinstry scores again for Motherwell against Aberdeen. 2 starts, 2 goals so far. Not bad for a winger.
One of the good things about the game today was, when the games are at training grounds… with just a few men and their dogs watching, it’s like watching a high quality Sunday league game. Today with perkins, gnonto, gyabi, drameh, Joseph, klaessen… that’s a few million worth of talent. Also you get to hear the foul mouth abuse dished out to referees, opposition… and their own team mates for mis-placed passes etc. All stuff you miss at a distance in a crowd of thousands. There was also a bit of friendly bantz. Klaessen was pissing himself at the Joseph handball. Then after klaessen had fallen on his Arse twice taking goal kicks, The next goal kick, Cris Moore came over giggling to ask klaessen if he wanted him to take it for him I enjoyed it
Yes and we could play at home hopefully given a favourable draw. Man utd u21s at elland rd would be nice.
all over them but no final product that number 43 for us will be a good player in the future he's different gravy when he's got time on the ball wor Klichy.
For **** sake. Right! Every **** in early for the next 6 months for extra shooting practice. Enough is enough.
