We're screwed. Boris and his hapless, incompetent and inexperienced crew.
They've all messed up in the past or have zero experience with the higher jobs. What a story we'll have to tell our grandkids.

Less than 0.2% of the population have actually voted him in too - most of those were 55+, white, male, southern based and in the higher pay brackets (thus receiving new tax cuts). Says it all.

Since the year 2000 we've had 5 PMs

Only 1 has been elected to that position
1 has been re-elected to the position
1 has been elected whilst in position
    2 were/are unelected

    #democracy

I remember a time you have to win an election to become PM

Brussels has roundly rebuffed Boris Johnson after he laid down tough conditions for the new Brexit deal he hopes to strike over the summer.
Speaking to the House of Commons for the first time as prime minister on Thursday, Johnson reiterated his campaign pledge of ditching the Irish backstop and promised to ramp up preparations for a no-deal Brexit immediately.

Theresa May appears to be the owner of a £40,000 bracelet once worn by Margaret Thatcher

Theresa May is rumoured to be the new owner of a bracelet that once belonged to Margaret Thatcher, which was recently sold at auction for £40,000.
As Mrs May waved goodbye outside 10 Downing Street on Wednesday, a statement bracelet could be spotted dangling from her wrist, leading some commentators to note that that the jewellery bore a striking resemblance to a trinket previously worn by the late Baroness Thatcher auctioned off in May.

Brexit party leader Nigel Farage has joined forces with a group of Donald Trump-supporting Americans to form a new lobbying body to raise money for the UK’s fight to leave the European Union.

The New York launch event for the new group — called World4Brexit — was attended by a string of the US president’s supporters and included figures such as Corey Lewandowski, the former Trump campaign manager, and Phil Bryant, the governor of Mississippi.

Details of the event emerged as Boris Johnson, the UK’s new prime minister, took office this week vowing to take Britain out of the EU by October 31 with or without a deal with Brussels.

But Mr Farage told the FT he is sceptical Mr Johnson will be able to deliver on his promise. “If Boris [Johnson] does Brexit that is great, but every sense inside me says he will fail,” he said.

The MEP said he had been urged by Mr Trump to join forces with Mr Johnson to “realign” British politics. But he played down the idea of a pact between the Conservatives and his Brexit party and questioned whether he could trust Mr Johnson.

Boris Johnson has pledged to "hold out the hand" and "go the extra thousand miles" to strike a new Brexit deal.

During a visit to Scotland, the prime minister said the existing withdrawal agreement negotiated with European leaders was "dead" and has "got to go".

However, he said he wanted the UK to be "very outward going" and said there was "every chance we can get a deal".

Preparations for a no-deal Brexit are being ramped up with Mr Johnson saying the UK must leave the EU by 31 October.

While in Scotland he also met First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and Scottish Conservative leader Ruth Davidson - both of whom have positioned themselves against a no-deal exit.

When was that time you remember? Because I don't remember it. Oddly, nobody had a problem with the electoral system when it was their party in power, much like the Yanks with the electoral college. It's only because of Brexit that "only 100,000 Tory party members will decide our PM" has become a common refrain.

While people may have been swept along by the lovely PR smile of Tony Blair to gift Labour a landslide, it was not a presidential election and they were actually voting for a representative of a party, whose leader would become PM. That party would continue to choose any leader, and thus the PM, until they were ousted in an election.

If you actually wish for a presidential style election, I'd suggest you take a look at the US, then sit down and be quiet.

Speekinawhich, why did the electoral college become such an issue? Why did the "popular vote" become so popular only once Hillary lost, even with people who have consistently tried to usurp the referendum result, which was a popular vote? Why does Nicola Sturgeon rule Scotland with less than 50% but refuse to accept two popular votes that were over 50%? Obama praised the electoral college as unriggable before the election, when it was Trump insisting the Democrats were rigging the election. And I wouldn't hold my breath for the Democrats to do anything to change their system once they're in power. The only time anybody has a problem with an electoral system is when they lose.

Any future US-UK trade deal would almost certainly be blocked by the US Congress if Brexit affects the Irish border and jeopardises peace in Northern Ireland, congressional leaders and diplomats have warned.
Boris Johnson has presented a trade deal with the US as a way of offsetting the economic costs of leaving the EU, and Donald Trump promised the two countries could strike “a very substantial trade agreement” that would increase trade “four or five times”.
Trump, however, would not be able to push an agreement through a hostile Congress, where there would be strong bipartisan opposition to any UK trade deal in the event of a threat to the 1998 Good Friday agreement, and to the open border between the two Irelands.

Boris Johnson hints UK could remain in EU single market and customs union until 2021
Boris Johnson has hinted that the UK could stay in a customs union with Europe for another two years.

During his visit to Wales, the prime minister indicated that he could include a transition period designed to soften the impact of leaving the EU on UK businesses.

Mr Johnson said: "Some of the (No Deal) changes that are going to be necessary in the run-up to October 31 will be crucial anyway if we are going to come out of the customs union and single market, as we must, in the course of the next couple of years."

John McDonnell has threatened to send Jeremy Corbyn to Buckingham Palace in a taxi to tell the Queen Labour is “taking over” if Boris Johnson loses a no-confidence vote.

The shadow chancellor’s comments at Edinburgh Fringe Festival on Wednesday suggested that MPs attempting to block a no-deal Brexit would involve the monarch if they ran out of options.

Can we have more of these please? Fly the EU flag in Istanbul. Fly them from the Kop. Rope in United, Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea fans on this. Also Celtic, Aberdeen and Rangers. And perhaps this will grow amongst all football fans who are not all Brexit voting chavs.
