Ms Berger left Labour in February to co-found Change UK after despairing about Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership and being repelled by anti-Semitic conduct in the Labour Party rank and file. She then separated from the group to sit as an independent in June after its poor showing in local and European elections. please log in to view this image Explaining why she had left the group, Ms Berger said she had been on a journey while on maternity leave for six months which allowed her to see things from afar and realise the public were just not ready for a new party. “It became clear there was not a groundswell of support for something new at that time. I did my best, but it was hard with a newborn child,” she said.

Private Eye reporting that under Operation Yellowhammer, the Army would take over running councils (including schools) in the event of No Deal Brexit. All council employees will be compulsory seconded to the Civil Service. We will have blue passports at some point though.
Fascinating: Steve Baker now on Politics Live castigating Thornberry for not going now for a GE, whilst at the same time advocating that the PM does everything in his power to defy the newly passed law to stop No Deal on the 31 October. Steve, you've just made the case for not going before the 31 October there, feller.
If all these magical and wonderful technological solutions to the Irish Border problem are just around the corner, what is the problem with agreeing to the Backstop, as it's only a temporary agreement to cover the period of the withdrawal agreement anyway?
The wording of the backstop means we could not finally leave until the EU gives us permission and the agreement also restricts trade agreements we can sign. The May agreement would put us in a worse position than if we just remained, so we might as well stay.

Boris Johnson did not believe in Brexit during the referendum campaign and backed Leave "because it would help his political career", says David Cameron. In an extract from his memoir published in the Sunday Times, the former PM also refers to cabinet minister Michael Gove as "a foam-flecked Faragist". The pair were "ambassadors for the expert-trashing, truth-twisting age of populism", Mr Cameron writes. And he also accuses Mr Gove of being disloyal to himself and Mr Johnson. Of his former colleague, Mr Cameron writes: "One quality shone through: disloyalty. Disloyalty to me - and, later, disloyalty to Boris." https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-49705213
