Needs an early thread. If we get dicked, does Ole leave? If we win, is he safe until season end? Can being kicked down the street every week at the moment, but this could be the game that cases an actual decision to be made. I think we should maintain the 5 3 2 formation that was a success at Spurs and we sued in a comfortable 2-0 win here season before last, against a full strength City. Pogba didn't play in that game and he won't be in this, so all good on that front.
Assuming Varane injured, hope this is the team; ..............................................de Gea .........................AWB.............Maguire..............Bailly... Sancho..................................................................................Shaw .................McTominay...........Fernandes...........DVDB .....................................Ronaldo ........................................................Cavani
Although more likely this; ..............................................de Gea .........................Lindelof.............Maguire..............Bailly... AWB..................................................................................Shaw .................McTominay...........Fernandes...........Fred .....................................Rashford ........................................................Ronaldo
I really hope you beat city, works out better for us and will go a long way to keeping ole in the job, personally i was surprised by the fact he survived a 5 nil home loss to us and i think the fact he did shows hes going nowhere anytime soon. I did think you would be working in the background on finding a new man in time for the next international break but ive changed my mind on that now because conte went to spurs.
Dunno, there's an argument against Conte but then there was also a strong argument for him. Too late for now anyway. Who's to say though he does do really well at Spurs and we take him prior to next season? He was the obvious mid season candidate, can't lie. That's not to say United haven't been sounding others out though. Bottom line is, if City repeat what Liverpool did (which I doubt they will) he would have to go.
Personally I think the Livpl result should've been the straw that broke the camel's back for the **** show against West Ham, Young Boys, Aston Villa and Lesta? No? The City game shouldn't even be the deciding factor. They should be looking for a replacement already. I know some will say they will likely keep him until the end of the season, or even longer if we finish top 4, but that's besides the point. It's not about what we think they will do - we're not mind readers. It's about what they SHOULD be doing. He's not good enough, and we're literally (sorry Chief I know it's not but I'll use it for affect) literally like smashing the V12 on your Ferrari 575 Maranello with a claw hammer every week, whilst your neighbours are buffing theirs up and giving them a fine tune. Why would you want to do that? The mind boggles but that's our Board.
Two fcking decent teams. And they don't even include Greenwood, Martial, Lingard or Varane. What a waste of a great squad.
Just realised it's a 12.30 kick off for **** sake. What's that about? As a result, I will miss it. I can listen on the radio though.
Cavani off as well as Varane. The two better players of our recent matches. It’s not looking bright. I think we’d do well with a draw The key today is not to ****ing crumble even if we concede 1 or 2 early, like we did against the RS.
What’s the point of Fred and McTominay always starting if we are always conceding goals? City are really stretching us through the flanks. That’s exactly what we never do yet we have players sitting on the bench that can do just that. There is really no midfield right about now.
The point of playing three centre halves is so you don't have to play McFred. This is clearly lost on Solskjaer. Appreciate Pogba is missing but this is the ideal opportunity to play van de Beek, someone who might try to move the ball forward quickly. I am absolutely adamant that wing back is no good for AWB and he should be one of the back three. Which would allow Sancho/Dalot/Telles to attack the right flank. We'd need to get the ball to do that though.
Ok, nearly half time. An actual coach/manager would be thinking about changing things round second half. Let's see.
Why is it that much easier to spot the weakness in the setup than the manager? AWB and Shaw are completely blanked out of this game. The system being played here again City is poor given the way they play and Ole should know this. This loss today, so far, is self inflicted!
a 1-0 HT would have flattered United. But such a poor goal to concede. Everyone just stopped. Our defenders so damn poor in confidence.
Fred and McTominay might as well not even be playing in that first half. Ole is far too predictable in his approach. He switched to this system because he had to do something. But overall, he has little tactical awareness to match the day especially with the great players at his disposal. We’ve just wasted this match for no reason other than stupidity.
Be a bit harsh to sack Ole on the back of this result, City have an almost unlimited cheque book and Pep has had years to build this team. Is how I hope your board thinks.
