If we win this we go 2nd and 2 points off the top... so naturally let's all expect we won't My extensive research... this time from the pages of the Manchester Evening News clicked just a few moments ago, suggests Wan Bissaka and Lindelof are both major doubts for this one. And because I'm beginning to think Martial is only good when he comes off the bench, I've put together this as my starting line up... -------------------------------Henderson Tuanzebe-------------Bailly------------Maguire-----------Telles ---------------------McTominay----------Fred------------------- Greenwood------------------Fernandes--------------Rashford ----------------------------------Cavani I'm tempted to say either Pogba or Donny instead of McTominay. It's a difficult one. Wolves have had one day off since their last game - a hard fought out draw against Spurs yesterday. They should be knackered and we should have enough in our squad to take advantage. I've been impressed by Pedro Neto. I really believe if we keep him quiet, Wolves will struggle. Our attack should be too much for them. At least I hope so! No slow starts please.
Having expectations of a win at home is the kiss of death I know wolves are a decent team but one I think United should be able to beat even with a few enforced changes. what we have and many don’t is the ability to bring game changers off the bench.
I would probably put Pogba in to replace McT rather than Donny because he does actually put in a defensive shift when needed. Would probably rather start with the team shown though until we got control with a goal I expect Ole will go with something far different unfortunately, Lingard was on the bench for the last game
No James for this one is all I ask. I honestly don't think he has any choice with the defence due to injuries (except Shaw for Telles) I wonder whether Lingard is purely to bring him on if we're winning to put him in the shop window ready for the Jan transfers?
Lingard needs to move on for his own sake, he is still young enough to make an impact/name elsewhere. I have always like Lingard, he gave his all for us every time he got on the pitch and at times was a key player, unfortunately for him we have moved on and he no longer meets the requirements ability wise.
It's the commitment off the pitch as well though. Just stories I suppose but he thought he'd 'arrived' and didn't put the work ethic in on the training ground. Could be bollox but his social media bollox and endless advertising seemed to support it. There's no anger or negative feeling towards the guy, just disappointment as he had real potential.
You know what is going to happen now, don't you. Just as we are finding our feet and are in the mix at the top end of the PL - bloody Covid will raise it's head again. I guarantee more and more games will be cancelled, the PL will suspend the season and we will be slow off the blocks (again) in the restart. Just watch.
Especially when cheats like City decide to use it as an excuse to have a rest. I can see Covid meaning we don't get crowd's but the players and staff should really he able to avoid getting it for **** sake.
If City had phoned the Pl and asked for a postponement because four of the first team had the ****s they would have been told to **** off. Their fault, they broke or ignored established protocols that every other PL team seems to be dealing with, so they should suffer the consequences. The whole thing stinks. #ofcourseitdoes-it'sCity
It is ridiculous that a club can simply get away with getting out of a match by saying they have a Covid outbreak. Surely they would be asked to provide full details including how they allowed it to happen... especially after two of their players were already self-isolating due to infection?
My only worry is Pogba and Matic up against their lively under 21's in midfield. We have our own pacey players of course.
Podence was poor against Spurs the other night but I'm surprised Nuno has dropped him. That's quite a positive for us.
That's a hell of a line up tbf. Just have Matic sit, Pogba box to box and the rest giving them nightmares. Solid defence too.
We just don't seem switched on tonight, too many mis-placed passes and the midfield seems lethargic. Wolves are bright and full of energy though.
Same old story at home for the first 35 mins. Struggle to break down defences that sit back. Far too slow in our build up doesn't help at all.
