This is the bit that worries me, we have already had two players who were "ripping it up" for Dortmund but were at best average in the Pl, Arsenal have tried a couple who have never really reached expectations too and now Chelsea are finding out that players are not always what they look in the BL. Bonus for us is if he works out then Martial can **** off and Rashford can keep his best position.
Kane is only any good if you set the team up to feed him, clinical as **** in that case. We need a striker that goes looking for food because he is starving (and is clinical as **** )
I've honestly got no worries at all about Sancho. He's class but more importantly it's the link up and movement between him, Bruno, Rashford, Cavani (and dare I say Pogba) that I'm relishing. I think they'll create so much space for each other even against teams that sit back.
We don't need a striker just yet. Not with Cavani and potentially Greenwood there. I still want another defensive midfielder though.
Yep, Haller, fantastic stats in the BL, couldn't keep up with the pace in the PL. I don't think people rate the premier for the level it's at, it's the toughest league in the world, most of the teams would qualify for Europe if they were in any other league.
Conversely, there have been many players that left PL and failed ignite in so-called lesser leagues. Ultimately, it's the character of the players that defines how a talented player performs. If they don't fit into the team, they end up losing thrust. We've also seen players move within teams in PL and failed miserably. What is clear is that nothing is guaranteed regardless of where the talent comes from. But I am optimistic with Sancho given his age, talent and awareness of the PL.
Some good housekeeping going on in the background too - Mata has signed a one year deal and we have signed Tom Heaton on a free. Does that mean there might be movement in our goalkeeper slots?
Could've been a great GK but his injuries have really hampered his career, less error prone than the other 2.
Lee Grant has also signed a new contract so someone has to be leaving. Romero must surely, then possibly one of the other two. Henderson hopefully, given he thinks (wrongly) he should be No.1.
Varane, Rice and Calvert-Lewin seem to be on our radar. I'd call it a tremendous window right now if we got the first two.
This seems to have gone a bit under the radar but maybe that's because of the source. 11:03 VARANE AGRESS PERSONAL TERMS WITH UTD Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane has agreed personal terms with Manchester United ahead of a move to Old Trafford, according to reports in the Daily Express. However, a transfer fee is yet to be agreed, with Varane winning three La Liga titles and four Champions League trophies during his 10-year stay at Real Madrid.
Pogba in the news… https://www.espn.com/soccer/soccer-...ester-uniteds-paul-pogba-sources?platform=amp I really hope he goes to PSG and we can actually start building properly with players that absolutely want to be here. His self serving demands on and off the pitch have not been good for the team, in my opinion.
I'm still not happy about our goalkeeper situation. De Gea couldn't even get a look in for Spain at the Euros, Henderson is injured............... its all well and good throwing cash at the rest of the team but if we're left with a choice of one of two muppets between the sticks we're no further forward.
