Does anyone prefer Shaw to Williams?

Slow half so far. No real intent and no penetration at the front

Martial and James may as well be sat in the stands for all the use they have been and Bissaka should not cross the halfway line because going forward he is just crap.

A game that required no extra motivation... We will end up buying 10 players by this time next year and we still won't get there.

    Just pathetic!

I don't think creativity was the problem yesterday. Our problem was up front. Until the last 5-10 mins we don't have enough players bursting forward to get into the box. Trying to pass the ball through the eye of a needle to 1 player who's bothered to get in the box aint going to achieve much.

I've been reluctant to say this up until now, but I feel it would be best for Martial as much as for the club if he moved on. He's stagnated, become stale and isn't progressing as a player. Watching his movement (or lack of) especially yesterday was just depressing to see. He used to be a far more intelligent footballer. The guy no longer sees the space or where he should be inviting the ball to come in.

He gets the ball, gets slightly shoved, goes down. Gets the ball, gets shoved, goes down. It happened so many times yesterday and far too easy for Wolves to defend against. The 4-5-1 system against a team that defends does not suit Martial. He's not a back to goal type of player. Lukaku was more in that mold and I don't think we have anyone to play that role at the moment.

His front to goal wasn't great either. He's become a sulk. And when he did make runs in the box yesterday why behind the defender instead of the space in front? It's like he's just lost it completely.

    Then there's the finishing.

I've wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt for so long, but I think it's like any profession. Sometimes the employee becomes so disillusioned (rightly or wrongly) that the situation can never be resolved and it's best for all parties concerned that they move on.

Martial used to be by far the calmest finisher we had, now he has been surpassed by both Rashford and Greenwood, not really sure what has happened to the lad.

Fck know, just ground down by constant changes in management?

My guess is he needs to be somewhere where the manager will constantly tell him he's the most important player. Sadly, he doesn't have the character to make that happen at United and sulks instead of doing something about it himself.

Martial isn't a number 9. He might think he is but he isn't.

If we had an actual striker, other than an 18 year old who can't play in every game, then Martial wouldn't get a look in as the supposed out and out striker but we don't so he does.

Dropping Williams for Shaw is a mistake, the lad wants to play for the shirt, Shaw wants to play for burgers.
