For such a poorly supported club Accrington defy the odds quite often with their results and seasonal efforts. Looking at their last 5 for example throws up a totally mixed bag of results. They have beaten some decent sides and have been dicked by others. Which one will report for duty this weekend is anyone's guess. There is no doubt we can win this one but if the real Accrington turn up then we could no doubt not. I have to think we will and take advantage of the others not playing due to them having really important players on International duty. Oh to be a big club with that kind of staff he says with tongue firmly in cheek. Hard fought but final victory for us is my prediction. The man in the middle this time has booked 50+ players and issued a further 4 reds so far in 15 matches. Seems a bit excessive to me so lets hope he isn't in his Headmaster mode on Saturday. COYG
Cooper, Grant, Gillesphey, Scarr, Wilson, Edwards, Broom, Houghton, Camara, Hardie, Garrick. Subs Burton, Agard, Randell, Law, Pursall, Shirley, Jenkins-Davies. No Mayor in the squad...is he injured ?
0-1. Argyle getting on top after a scrappy long ball start from both sides. Goes in as an OG but came after a good spell from Argyle. Well deserved lead.
Interesting that commentators on Radio Devon are Northerners brought in from somewhere local who are not familiar with Argyle. Boy are they lavishing praise on the Greens. Great Terrific Deserved Intelligence Exquisite Skillful Resilient
Well I said something had to go wrong sometime. Slow start from Argyle leads to a goal conceded. All to play for again in the 2nd half which isn't what was needed .
Now ref shows a yellow to Leigh for a foul on Houghton which the commentators concur was a straight red.
Argyle now denied what commentators deem a certain penalty and red card. Doesn't matter as Hardie gets the 4th.
