According to history we apparently should lose this one as our record is not great at their place. However, the current form book says different as we have a much better form book lately than they have. If we have aspirations of doing anything this season this is the sort of game we should be winning. Which Argyle will turn up?

Since the Exeter debacle we have done well in games. Was that a wake up call to all concerned and can they keep it up. I think they can and would hope they will win this one. About time the forward line turned up and spanked someone.

No McFadzean then, that's a blow but he has been training so hopefully just this match missed.

We've had one attempt so far. Pathetic. Is this yet another periodic no show.

1-0...H/T.......stats suggest Argyle aren't in this game yet.

You can't fathom this side can you. The last two games have been decent and against high flying sides. This time it's a team below them if only just and they haven't turned up at all. Why do they do this what seems every 3 or 4 games.

Very poor 1st half, better in the second but couldn't score. Down one place to 9th, disappointing.

Some tough comments about Argyle and their lack of consistency.....poor in the first half but better in the second....but Cambridge are only at best a mid-table team and should be beaten if we want promotion this season.....the one obvious thing is that Callum McFadzean is our best player and he was certainly missed today, he has the ball longer than any other player in the team and gets fouled more often and he is probably our top scorer.

Danny Mayor comes over as a bit of an imposter......It was said on GoS that he hasn't scored for 17 games.....drop him then if he is that bad.....he is making Graham Carey look more like Messi and Ronaldo combined.

In hindsight looking back at Bury's success last season....on the pitch of course .....and beyond the players that Ryan Lowe brought eventually to Plymouth.....you must take into account two players that were fundamental to Bury getting promoted.

!.....Nicky Maynard...played 37 games and scored 21 goals.....who went to Mansfield.

2.....Jay O'Shea...attacking mid-fielder who scored his fair share of goals and was was in the PFA team of the year.....and nearly came to Argyle....but in the end settled for Australia....going to Brisbane Roar instead.

I'm sure that they would have made a difference to Argyle's scoring record.

Mayor strikes fear into opponents Plym, the majority can't handle him. Sensible and I agree that his end product is lacking for such a talented player, often because he hangs onto the ball too long. He needs to find the pass or take the shot a bit quicker. But drop him? No, that would be cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Somewhat more knowledgeable people than me say that Lowe has changed his basic philosophy from outright possession (the 70% target) to territorial (hitting long balls, not to the head but into space) so our nimble strikers can get after it in the opposition half This compensates for what would otherwise be a back three that lack passing skills (and indeed all three are doing better than early in the season) and favours Sarcevic, who, although not the most technically gifted, loves a through ball and will run and run like the Duracell Bunny. It doesn't favour the less athletic but more skillful Mayor.

I must bow to your on the spot knowledge....but is he better than Carey or Lameiras.....certainly not in the goal scoring stakes.

McFadzean I think should be first on the team sheet.

Would you say that McFadzean feeds mostly on passes from Mayor though plym? I notice a lot of the time that it is Mayor that plays him in and gives him chances. Not all of the time but quite a lot. Where Mayor goes wrong is he doesn't take his chance to shoot when he has one and goes one touch further or passes when he has lost his chance. He needs to have a pop more like Carey did.

Those two do play very well together on the left. I hesitate to put a percentage on it but despite Sarcevic's good form, a majority of our best attacks go through those two. The absence of McFadzean was I said before kick-off, a blow, and it'll have been Mayor who was left holding the baby.

It's probably no coincidence that the first substitution at 55 mins took Conor Grant off with Byron Moore moving to LWB and we did better after that.
