We're in the top half of the league...yet we're only 3pts above a relegation spot....how ridicules is that.
Just been looking at the GoS photos....that looks a bit down market....and the subs having to sit out in the driving wind and rain with no cover....unreal for Div 1 football.
A few facts to mull over..... Fleetwood has a population of 26,000 and is 8 miles north of Blackpool literally surrounded by the sea and a river on the Fylde coast....small ground with a small supporter base.... a backwater since the collapse of the fishing industry in the town....biggest employer now is Fisherman's Friend the throat lozenges......only one smaller club in the Football League.....Forest Green Rovers....basically a hamlet a few miles from the metropolis of Nailsworth (5,800 pop).....both owned by rich benefactors....Rubin Reid plays for them now....they're in a Div2 playoff position at present.
Just saw highlights and we were never in it and could have lost by 7 or 8 nil. We were Rochdale yesterday!
No need to panic just yet. So many of the bottom teams have to play each other yet and this season is a strange beast.
Not much to argue about regarding this result....outclassed, just not enough power in mid-field or up front......could have been a lot more than 2-0.
