Tear the form book up and throw it away after Tuesday night. If it was anything to go by Hartlepool have lost most of the last 10 matches and we have won 6 of our's. We seem to have a little run going of losing one then winning the next two. We lost the last one so................ We need to bounce back and get something out of this one. The rest of the contenders seem to be pretty much playing each other so it would be a great chance. It's another one of those we should win it games with the usual question what could possibly go wrong. If you listen to the Argyle faithless then this is where Argyle fall apart like last season. I'd still be shocked if they did but then again this is Argo.
Am expecting a bit of an angry reaction from the players following Tuesday night's implosion so expect normal service to be resumed with a comfortable 3-1 victory..
Not an easy game but players have to get their minds in order for this one. Argo can do anything Sensible even thrash them 6-0!
I remember quite some moons ago a score of 0 - 8 at this ground. The reason it sticks in my mind is overhearing a young spotty oik on a bus a few weeks later. He was boasting to his mates that he was at the match. Apparently Argyle scored their first goal after about 1 minute and he with a few others ran on the pitch. He was ejected from the gorund by the stewards and the kid thought this was a great day out. So think about this. A 900mile round trip for one minute of football which must have cost him around £40 minimum then. Such a laugh..........
CENTRE-BACK Sonny Bradley was passed fit to play for Plymouth Argyle in their away game against Hartlepool United. Bradley had been substituted early in the 3-2 defeat by Leyton Orient at Home Park on Tuesday because of a thigh strain. But the 25-year-old was included in the Pilgrims' starting line-up at Victoria Park as the promotion-chasing Pilgrims tried to bounce back from their setback against Orient. There was only one change to the Argyle team, with Jake Jervis replacing the injured Antoni Sarcevic. Sarcevic had suffered an ankle injury in the first half against Orient when he was tackled by Callum Kennedy. Striker Nathan Blissett was added to the Pilgrims' substitutes with Jervis moving up into the starting line-up. Argyle: Luke McCormick; Oscar Threlkeld, Jakub Sokolik, Sonny Bradley, Gary Sawyer; Yann Songo'o, David Fox; Jake Jervis, Graham Carey, Matt Kennedy; Ryan Taylor. Substitutes: Nauris Bulvitis, Jordan Slew, Jimmy Spencer, Ryan Donaldson, Nathan Blissett, Vincent Dorel, Craig Tanner. Jervis playing like a man possessed. Clearly not happy at having been left out and reacting in just the right way.
Bollox. All the attempts and vast majority of the possession according to the stats and now one down.
Has McCormick palmed a shot back into the danger area again to concede a goal against the run of play? Early momentum now largely lost with Allesandra and Thomas prominent of course. Good job Rooney isn't eligible to play.....
Usual complaints about Donaldson coming on rather than Tanner quickly stifled as Kennedy curls in another peach. 1-1.
Looking at the results so far the only team in the top 10 to gain anything today is Carlisle. Everyone else has drawn so stalemate. Makes a point for us not as bad as it might have been.
Phew, a point, for once one of the first games to finish. Other results are pretty benign, apart from Carlisle winning.
I have to say that all of the teams appear to be having a wobble. Nobody so far is leaping out of the pack. I think it's gonna be a long road to the final jump and run in. And that's for all of the teams. I was relieved today when looking at the stats I should have been happy.
Only1pt gained from teams 22nd & 23rd in the league is disappointing....but as sensible has already said teams around us are on wobbles as well. Lets hope Antoni Sarcevic is fit for the Luton trip.....he is missed in mid-field......with Carey nor really performing at present our mid-field really needs some oomph put in it from somewhere.
Totally agree with the Sarcevic comment Plym. As said on the "Injured" thread the other day. My son pointed out how much he does and how much he releases others to do and the more I think about it the truer that opinion gets. I just hope Adams isn't doing any kidology with his injury and he really will be back soon. He was right about Bradley who seems to have come through today unscathed for 90 minutes.
