Long ole poke for this one in the mid week slot. Seen the weather forecast for tomorrow and it does not look good. Says wind and rain all day and flooding probable up North.

The many subscribers to the Sunderland board seem to think this is a banker home win with the odd doubt being cast as to their ability to put a bit of a run together. I'd guess on paper it does look that way but then again the results for this league this season have been all over the place with some really strange outcomes. Is this yet another one..........? Course it is.

    0-1.....Lewis...11 minutes...H/T.

Pitch a bit of a pudding....nice Stadium but shame about the pitch.

Glad to see that they are not over doing playing it around at the back....ball just sticks in the mud.

Playing quite well....but all that running will leave some knackered legs in the second half....Sunderland will come strong in the second half....we need a second.

    NO commentary ?

What a fantastic performance! Battled from front to back on an awful surface and looked a far better side. Imagine if we'd actually been playing on a football pitch!

Sunderland will point at the stats and claim they deserved something but It was carthorses against thoroughbreds as far as I'm concerned.

    1-2...F/T

    Lewis...11 minutes
    Edwards.....56 minutes

Excellent display by Argyle on a difficult surface.....certainly not a good surface for Mayor to play on.

Not sure what the referee was doing at the start of the second half....he gave a free kick against Lewis for next to nothing.

Then Argyle won a free kick....and the game stopped for nearly 5 minutes....with Sunderland players trying to get the kick reverse and it looked as if they were trying to get an Argyle player sent off....the ref looked so indecisive and was obviously checking out what happened with the fourth official....it looked as if Opoku was the player who got the foul....and he just couldn't understand what was going on...in the end the original decision stood.

But some how our defence played well and held out.

    MOTM.....possibly Watts or Edwards.

I had no commentary at all.....plenty of backgound noise from the players and benches....but no commentator.....how was it for others ?

Good defensive performance from Argyle and clinical when chances were there. We hardly troubled their goal and yet scored two. That's what is called making the chances count. They are a decent side and if we had allowed them to just play their sort of game then we might have been stuffed but as already said above we battled hard and in my opinion got a result we deserved. One criticism of Sunderland. They whinge and whinge at the Ref and if they had just got on with doing what they do well then maybe they might get a different result. I do not like to see players trying to get opposition players booked. We resorted to it almost in retaliation in the end pointing out to the Ref that he had been talked into a card for the same thing previously. Fair play if the opposition are doing it all the time.

i find it quite funny that we sort of pride ourselves in playing proper football and the passing game. We have been done away from home alll season doing that. Then we come across a pitch that was slightly wet to say the least from the start and churning up and produce a winning performance. Thought the newbies did ok and Lewis just ran out of steam after an hour. You could see his legs had gone when he ran with the ball for about 20 yards and then just kicked it anywhere. He will do ok when he is more match fit. MOM is hard to say really. Maybe Watts in defence this time who didn't do anything wrong as far as I could see and won a lot of balls in the air for a change.

No commentary. Don't know why but possibly there was no subtitle machine to let us benefit from the local Sunderland commentary.

That's two successive games when we have suffered truly awful referees. In yhe incident you are referring to, our player was clearly fouled and as a result fell into another of theirs, apparently causing a life threatening injury. That doesn't put our guy at fault and the referee shouldn't allow himself to be put under siege.

On Saturday, their keeper made repeated attempts to interfere with the placing of the ball for the penalty and the ref allowed that to go on for far too long.

They are handing out cards for trivial offences, failing to punish the truly cynical and dangerous and failing to control the players.

It seems that quite a few of us had no commentary.....the pitch side mics seem to work well.

Someone said that their sound came on half-way through the first half.....other than that only a few others mentioned the lack of commentary....so some had it from the beginning.

Some had tuned into a dab commentary....which had a few seconds time lapse....which made it all a bit strange.

Need a partial refund personally....ifollow isn't that good a viewing compared with the Huddersfield Cup coverage we had.
