Yep, our man sure comes over well. Always gives an honest answer and never avoids awkward questions. Think I'n having a man crush?
Ed Chamberlain asked a very important question last night. Was Ronald in favour of technology? His answer was an unequivocal yes. And yes they do need help. Lots of help. And as for potentially slowing down the game, tough toenails. Getting the right decision is the important thing. Besides, these days it won't take too long to arrive at the right decision 99% of the time.
How about a Saints Manager's XI... Adkins Burley, Koeman, Pochettino, Poortvliet Strachan, Souness, Ball, Hoddle Bates, Sturrock Subs: Dodd, Pearson, Nicholl, Gray, Wise, Pardew, Wigley A few World Cup players in the first eleven
Koeman was asked why he used twitter and other managers didn't. He said he liked to know what was being said, but I think a major reason is that he knows what to post on twitter...nothing inflammatory. He is a master of diplomacy and avoiding controversial questions. A lot of managers are pretty wise to keep away from twitter.
I usually find these things cringe-worthy, but this was excellent. "I like his integrity", said a beaming David Platt (think 1994, people).
Amused me that he admitted to reading Twitter when we went through the bad run. He had plenty of messages from fans... (You can tell Ronald reads the Saints fan tweets that aren't even directed 'at' him. That's because now and then he accidentally 'favourites' a tweet with '#saintsfc' in it - which suggests he is searching for all posts tagged with '#saintsfc' - he effectively reads a fan forum! )
