Out of order Rover, if McShane and Quinn want to enjoy a pint together... The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Bonkers decision!! I can only presume that there's something going on internally that's affecting their decision. Dressing room issues etc. Job for Ted Lasso I think- let life imitate art.
Former Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson is being considered as an option to take over as manager at Selhurst Park after the sacking of Patrick Vieira. Frenchman Vieira, 46, was sacked on Fridayafter a 12-match winless run in all competitions. It would be a remarkable return for former England boss Hodgson, who was replaced by Vieira in July 2021. Some very good points Patrick Vieira: Vincent Kompany says sacking of Crystal Palace does not sit well with him https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/64995055
Didn't they go with Viera because they wanted to play a better style. Going back to Roy would be daft
Yes he does!! Reading between the lines he thinks race may be an issue and I would agree with in (if so). 12th with a poor squad, average stadium and bad fun of luck. Does that mean that every manager beneath palace deserves the sack? I hope that forest, Leicester and West Ham survive and teach the owners of palace a lesson.
I agree it's a strange decision but ultimately the Owner of the Club has decided to change things, that's his prerogative,he pays the bills. We're not privy to why Parish made the decision but I'm pretty sure Vieira will be? There's nothing in Kompany's brief interview that remotely touches on this being connected to 'Race' and I'm pretty sure if Parish were a racist then he wouldn't have employed Vieira in the first place...
I think,(without delving too deeply into their accounts or structure),Palace have numerous investors with similar shares?Parish is Chairman and leads up the consortium and he said only yesterday that Football is a results based business and they were seeking fresh impetus. Personally,I think it's knee-jerk and looks like a panic measure(they've been on a poor run but that's been against decent sides and they have some winnable games coming up). My point was,and still is,this doesn't appear to be a decision based on anyone's race, creed or colour and any such suggestion is Ill-founded and unnecessary conjecture.
Good article about Kompany and how Craig Bellamy is assisting. Like Bellamy’s comment about Kompany speaks 5 languages and he barely speak one. Kompany has a a Masters Degree in business. A lot brighter than many of the ex players of ours we see mumbling incomprehensibly as pundits on TV. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...ays-Burnley-assistant-boss-Craig-Bellamy.html
Steve Parish owned 18% of the shares and a Delaware company (owners believed to be American investors Josh Harris and David Blitzer) owned 67.5%. Another American investor, John Textor, then invested £87.5m in August 2021 for 40% of the shares. Parish, being a fan, led the consortium which bought Crystal Palace in 2010 but now he's the only one of the shareholders willing to work on day to day matters.
