Be careful, with that kind of tactical nous you will get a job managing Everton.

Klopp on Lovren's chances for Bayern clash

Liverpool are planning for Tuesday's Champions League clash with Bayern Munich without Dejan Lovren, confirmed Jürgen Klopp.

The Reds centre-back did not travel to this week’s training camp in Marbella as he recovers from a hamstring injury sustained last month.

Virgil van Dijk is suspended for the first leg of the last-16 tie against Bayern, too, and Klopp’s current preparations involve ‘other solutions’ than Lovren.

“I don’t want to rule it out but I cannot really plan with it,” the manager told Liverpoolfc.com in Spain, when asked for an update on the No.6’s availability.

“He is not here for good reasons, because he cannot be part of training. We are back on Friday. Then from Saturday on, Dejan is back at Melwood and we will see.

“But, of course, we have to prepare it differently. If Dejan gives a sign on Monday – ‘I feel brilliant’ – then we’d have to think anew.

Matip and Fabinho it is then, which means our midfield will have to be Milner, Henderon and Wijnaldum.

I fear Bayern will get an away goal or two against that.

why does it HAVE to be that midfield?

You'd think kieta as more of a shot playing in europe v bayern than not.. I'd not play him v utd away but bayern at anfield? he should be capable.

    that said..

You can almost predict klopp will pick milner..

Read some of that nonsense, they are a quality experienced team and taking them lightly would be disastrous.

Just reading Coman is a doubt for Bayern after hobbling off v Augsburg on Friday night. Bayern won the game 2-3 but were behind twice.
And Goretzka scored the quickest own goal in Bundesliga history...............13 seconds <laugh>

Really looking forward to this match. If we had a fully fit team, I’d be confident of beating them. Fabinho and Matip defence levels the playing field somewhat because not only is our defence weakened, but so too is our midfield.

Shaqiri: I wanted to face Bayern Munich

Xherdan Shaqiri always hoped Liverpool would draw Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

The Reds attacker spent two-and-a-half successful seasons with the Bundesliga giants earlier in his career and retains fond memories of his trophy-laden time there.

So Tuesday night’s first leg of the last-16 tie between the sides – and next month’s reverse meeting at the Allianz Arena – represents a special reunion for Shaqiri, who will hope to be available following a minor abdominal strain.

And it’s an occasion he wanted to happen.

IMo its more than that. Away goals count double so we need ultimate effort to overcome that.

We might be seeing lovren as a we were playing mindgames all along move tomorrow.. who knows.

IMo keita should start even if lovren does. Fabinho or henderson is the only change to midfield imo based on that decision making process

    Big al
    TAA Matip. someone Roberston
    Windy Someone Keita
    Salah firmino Mane

We'd not even be debating aynthign if VVD wasn't suspended imo.

Milner no 1 sub. Shaqirir emergency inferior sub. WHo cares after that,.,.,..
