I've never seem him do much else TBF. i this he's one of the bigger bottlers out there. Both sides got gifted stuff so fairs fair... in a perverted sort of way.
I take it you watched BBC salford then? They didn't make a fuss as Can (unlike Silva, for instance) didn't do a dramatic roll-over and scream. But he lost control of his feet as he went over th eball and Can got the sole of his boot in his chest and shoulder. The type of challenge barklay would get away with at Goodison (or Rojo anywhere), but the type of challenge that would see a referee sending off the whole Hull team if it happened at Goodison.
Talking of which, Chuckle 1 recently: I used to admire Neville's fairness, but this season (and especially the LC final) the pretence has slipped. He doggedly stuck out with his contention that Otemendi 'Got a touch on the ball' so it wasn't a pen, even though in order to do that he had to wrap his leg around Firmino's side and put his boot level with his face to do so. At least the other panelists saw through that horseshit.
Here's a question, and try and answer it honestly: do you not think it's contentious enough to warrant being on the 'highlights'? Do you ask yourself. perhaps, why it was not, and would you expect it to be so if it was one of your players on the receiving end?
I think he's got a sniff of an opening to get back in the fold. He was OUT with van gaal but i reckon he's trying really hard to cozy up. he knows mourinho could end hi mat any time in terms of inside info.
If i may interject. Can got up too quick. his roll about was theatrical but if he'd said down for a few minutes he might just have bought the red. I think he got up too angry and gave the coardly ref the out to just pull the yellow. In firness to the ref though... yaya was so out on his legs on 60mins that the ref did us a favour. Once yaya was subbed city were all over us.
I said at the time it was a pen (though it's bollocks to say Milner wasn't desperately trying to get the ball, as Quinn and Souness did). I also said I wouldn't have given the Mane one either, though it is in the catagory of 'seen them given' as it's Otemendi's responsibilty, as the player behind, to ensure that legs don't get tangled. It would have been a free kick outside the box, that's for sure.
i nthe end lil rim is fast taking on the mantle of the next nasri the lad sure does miss a lot of sitters. very ineffective player IMO. 1 in 5 and all that.
Indeed! Talking of which, I thought it bizarre that Chuckle gave the MotM to Mane, citing that he 'Won the penalty'! Maybe he should have gary, maybe he should.
He was looking at that too, Oliver. I truly expected the game to be pulled back and a pen given when Lil Rim missed, as I didn't see any foul Milner in real time, but that Klavan one was glaring.
