It’s only hard when the reason for not winning/ finishing on the podium was not their fault, this was, so only person to blame was Norris. Doesn’t excuse McLaren for not over ruling him.
That’s very harsh. At the point Lewis came in it looked like it was slackening off. Both of them took a gamble. Very easy to sit in a chair at home and criticise people for gambling the wrong way after the race has finished.
Hamilton was catching him at a rate of knots when he came out on Inters . Doesn’t take rocket science for Norris or the McLaren team to tell Norris to come straight in because the rain wasn’t easing off.
Gutted for Lando. But they will come again. Ham doesn't look so chipper even though he won his first race in 10 and his 100 overall. Maybe because max got 2nd.
Yeah McLaren mess that up good style, missed out on a P2 in the hope of what, a safety car to the end? As soon as those further back boxed it was clear inters were definitely needed. Then again Mercedes lost out on a front row because of poor timed rain yesterday. Win some lose some.
Out front with your very first win in sight.....and you have to try make the call to come in or not. He picked his approach, and sadly it was the wrong call. I'm glad I didn't have to make that choice.
Norris had a 24 second cushion or something at that point and could afford to lose 6 seconds a lap and still win. Unfortunately, the rain got significantly worse. That was not a certainty. Lewis and Lando gambled, Lando lost.
well Norris and the McLaren team both had the choice and they both got it wrong, no sympathy for them
No sympathy that mother nature threw a spanner in the works with a handful of laps and Hamilton breathing down his neck? The timing was incredibly unfortunate.
Lando owning the stay out decision - well done for that. So sad to not see him get first win. Lewis had nothing to lose as he had big gap back to 3rd. If Lando had pitted he would have ended up second, so in hindsight 2nd would have been better than 7th but making the decision on the track with your first win in sight who can blame Lando for trying? Not me, he did a great job. He will win soon, I am sure. Congrats to Lewis for 100th Win!
Ok Mark. I'm sorry they didn't meet up to your exacting standards. I am sure you would have made the right call. Now shut up.
Lando himself said on Sky that the team didn’t expect the rain to get worse . Had they thought the rain would get worse , they may well have pitted .
I genuinely don't think any of them do it for the money. Nor can they see the future. If you can watch a dramatic sporting event and feel no empathy for the winners or losers then I honestly don't know why you do it.
