Got me... What hope does he have? Bob or ....? Pretty disappointing really. Was really pleased with his appointment and thought he might be just what we needed at the time. Got to win games though. If he goes this week, won’t be a surprise unfortunately.
What chance has he really had What chance has a new manager got What we really need is readings or villa's accountant
He was what we needed last year when we had Eze, Wells etc. Now he's been given a Ford Focus and told to race it at Le Mans. It's not ALL his fault but he will take all the blame.
I don’t necessarily disagree with you. I think Warbles is an open, decent, articulate man that has done a reasonable job under the circumstances. Only a fool would think he’d acted in any way other than what he thought was best for the club. But, as I’ve said a few times before, I just don’t think he knows how to win matches at this level. A commitment to playing a beautiful game is admirable, but not if there’s little to no reward. I’m sure the Light Brigade looked magnificent as they charged down the valley towards the Russian guns. Despite this, I think the club will teeter around it’s current position most of the season and avoid relegation, but stands a decent chance of finishing higher and safer with somebody that knows how to win ugly when necessary. Personally, for me that somebody is Nigel Pearson, but I appreciate he’s not to everybody’s taste.
Chatting to a son last night and we agreed Pearson. We need to win ugly, win beautiful but win any which way. Relegation would be very bad for QPR!
The other question this prompts is wether we underachieved significantly last year. We scored more goals than Fulham who went up, and let in more than two of the bottom three. If we'd been a bit more pragmatic in our style of play and not crumbled after the restart then who knows. Sadly nothing we can do anything about now but it's an important question in the assessment of MW.
No longer sadly. Should have gone at end of match yday. However, I'm really not sure that will solve the challenges we face. The ultimate blame has to rest with the owners. Given the mess the world is in, it is not hard to imagine the stewardship (which is all 'ownership' is) being passed on by folk who now want to cut their losses. That would start a whole new cycle of re-building for the club and years before any chance at the PL again.
What really bugs me is that at Christmas last year we were right in the play-off mix, a modest strengthening of the team and signing Wells might have been enough to (1) get in the play-offs and (2) show some bloody ambition which would persuade better players to sign or stay with us. Lack of ambition last season may haunt us for many more to come...
I have to say...I think he has tomorrow's match to turn it around. A win at Norwich might be the only thing that saves him. As anyone new wants a window to work wonders with the 0.5 million we will get for BOS and the 0.2 million we will get for Lumley.. We can bring back Shodipo and/or Smythe to replace BOS.. So we will have about 3/4 million to get a RB and some creativeness
Kakay is adequate at right back and Chair can create, all be it sporadically. We need a centre forward Beth.
