Was very surprised to read that. I understood that Sadler and Ellington's wages (believed to amount to nearly ã1m a year combined), would go towards reducing our annual loss, and that future budget rises would depend on a percentage of transfer windfalls being added to the wage budgets over the following three seasons. Would be delighted if I'm wrong. But if I am wrong, where's the money coming from?
I expect you are right NNW - I would rather see us reduce our running costs so that we become a sustainable break even club. that way we will not be forced to sell so often
I think the young posh player is on a lot of championship clubs radar! However as he is a local lad we may stand a chance! If it did happen ,I would feel a bit sorry for Troy though!
Not surprisingly Saracens are not having it all their own way: From the Watty Obs: Could be unplanned extra revenue for us -if we are prepared to allow them here - and that could depend on the pitch
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...as-curtain-falls-on-Derby-playing-career.html He doesn't get any better.
If Saracens staying for another 18 months meant that we could replace the current pitch like-for-like, I'd take that gladly. That way, we should get 7 or 8 years of it being in pretty good nick. And if we later find ourselves in a position where we have to take another football/rugby team in to ensure our survival, the playing surface should be tolerable most of the time.
French, just listening to the interview that your last BBC article was based on. Wildly misleading piece of journalism. Malky made very clear that he understands the financial reality of the situation, but will nonetheless be talking to the new owners to see what can be done.
Welcome to not606 georgegbj - not sure apart from the likes of Ellington - who thankfuly will be off our hands. I think the younger members of the squad are all OK as are Loach and DG - which will help any valuations for them
NNW...I have just listened to the interview and you are quite right, he doesn't say anything such as the report. "It sounds as if you are in a state of limbo". That was the impression that I gained. Presumably someone must know what is going on.
