Kiko Femenía on Watford: “I renewed [my contract] when we were relegated, and the truth is that I am very happy here. Both my family and I have adapted very well."

Very sad news. He was our 60s version of Les Taylor - when he arrived, the team seemed to click. RIP <rose>

In 1967 or 1968 4 of us went to see Northampton vs WFC one night, in my dear old Standard 10 called Bumble (It used to bumble along, probably due to having 4 different tyre sizes on the 4 wheels.) Northampton used the county cricket ground , and we stood in duckboards placed on part of the pitch. Dixie scored (the equallser I think) with a truly fabulous shot from outside the penalty area, which went in off the underside of the bar. A happy memory of simpler times.

That would have been Easter 1968, I was behind the goal for that one. We had played Northampton at home three days previously - when Barry Dyson scored four in a 5-1 win.

Season tickets remaining at the same price as 19/20.

Just got an email saying so.

Credit to the club for that.

I think this is superb from the club, it would have been easy to hike prices a bit to cover lost revenues from this season, but huge credit has to be given for not doing this.
I cannot wait until we can get back into the ground, I have genuinely missed our pilgrimage there every other week or so!!

I’m in this bottom right one, somewhere over Luther’s left shoulder. Where’s a magnifying glass when you want one?

An interesting chart, which appeared in an article about Barnsley F.C. in the Financial Times.

I had not realised that Watford had used the high press so effectively, although I knew that Barnsley employed the 'gegenpress'. However, Watford are much more a passing team than Barnsley, who are very direct.

The game is getting as bad as cricket with all these stats appearing - I wonder who collates them, how and why?

Having said that, I also wonder how often we conceded possession in our own final third? It may be a false memory, but over the course of the season we did seem to be more susceptible to that than to gaining possession at the opposite end.
