Saw this elsewhere... Painful reading. Most goals conceded at home in top flight history. Most consecutive home defeats in top flight history. Most home defeats in top flight history Our worse ever points return in the top flight Most consecutive defeats to one club Joint lowest home points total in top flight history But still above Norwich...
Rubbing it in a bit - a Watford XI if we had kept our best players. https://tbrfootball.com/watford-xi-if-they-kept-their-best-players-featuring-richarlison/
Kinda negating the fact that these players put in some second rate shifts for various reasons (from didn't want to be here anyway to having their heads turned by others), were not deemed suitable for English football, flattered to deceive, or were plain robbed from us.
Bachmann staying put according to this. http://sportwitness.co.uk/watford-man-insists-hes-going-nowhere-saw-situation-hodgson-coming/
Clearly showing the age of the writer, but - admittedly - he does qualify the criteria which is the basis for the selection: "TBR have put together a Watford XI if they kept their best players in recent years." No one from GT's teams in the 1980s has been included, although it was our most successful era.
Really enjoyed reading that - less hype , more sense. And he gave his shirt to our grandson after Burnley (at Turf Moor) so he's a favourite in our family !
I could do with some of that turf! I like the way the white line is still there under the turf. I do wonder what is wrong with the existing turf, bit of a waste of money to relay it?
