Basically to be Gino's right hand man and report back to him from the training ground and dressing room.

They are probably best mates so will never part.

Must say Adam Leventhal is coming across as very bitter now - written another tweet laughing about the club sacking Edwards and now obviously him getting promoted.

Shouldn't he be a bit more professional in his job and maybe find out why Edwards was sacked etc?

I shall be grateful if someone will explain exactly what Giaretta does which is of such value to the club that he has been offered a new three year contract. I know that he posts butterfly photographs of his wife on social media, appears to think supporters are gullible with his 'rule of 11' explanation as to why 'Cucho' Hernandez was sold, gives interviews to the Italian media but not to the local press and spies on the Watford head coaches in their training sessions and in the dressing room. Is that really enough to warrant a new three year contract? He must clearly have great value if Gino Pozzo decided to back Giaretta rather than Rob Edwards in their apparent power struggle. I hope that his new three year contract is not an indication that nothing is really going to change at the club.

I was under the impression, maybe wrongly, that Giaretta was a long time associate of Pozzo Snr. Although Gino is the sole owner of Watford, much of the financial structure means that there is definite interest in what is happening in England. Maybe Giaretta is the eyes and ears reporting back to Italy.

It was reported and alleged Giaretta went to see Daddy Pozzo when Duxbury wanted to get rid of him and made sure he got his job back...

Asprilla was an unused sub & Cabezas came on for the final 15 minutes of Colombia's 1-1 draw against Senegal in the U20 World Cup last night.

That point saw Colombia win their group - Senegal knocked out.

The tournament was due to be held in Indonesia but objected to Israeli participation. So it's now being played in Argentina.
And folks wonder why Israel is a member of UEFA!

No singings yet or new contracts but a couple of Pre season games have been announced.

5th July, 7.30pm, Boreham Wood, Meadow Park

18th July, 7.45pm, Stevenage, Lamex Stadium

Least they are local so fans can actually go .

At 03.06 tonight on BBC world service is the story of Jay DeMerit coming to England aged 22 to make it as a professional footballer.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/w3ct4qwg

This is the link which appears to be playing now if you can't wake up in the middle of the night to listen to it. Regretfully I am often awake at that hour, so I expect I will sleep through it tonight.

Some suggestion we could play Hibs as part of the Porteous deal but might just be wishing thinking from fans.

Fans complaining that they are dull boring games but we always play local sides in Pre-season as do most clubs.

One will probably be the Under 23s/Youth team anyway...

No doubt if there was some European tour the same people would be complaining about money being wasted and not being able to go.

I'd go if it was in Edinburgh - back to my old stomping ground.

No surprise I suppose, but The Sun are reporting that Choudhury is going back to Leicester - I guess they'll need him...

Asprilla in the starting line up for Colombia v Slovakia in the U20 World Cup - currently 0-0.

Martins is on the bench for Brazil v Tunisia - Brazil leading 2-0.

I see Brazil have a player called Biro in their team - I wonder if Manga will pen a deal for him?;)

A cracking goal by Asprilla from the edge of the area gives Colombia a 2-0 lead.

Edit now 3-0 - all 3 goals coming in the first 7 minutes of the second half
