    Watford v Millwall

Watford host Millwall with the dream of promotion on the verge of becoming a reality. A win, or even a draw depending on other results, will mean an immediate return to the Premiership. Have a look at the table, I doubt anyone would have believed that second was in reach when Ivic was sacked. One win from three remaining games is what is needed. With Brentford away and Swansea at home to follow. The optimists might even feel we can make up the five point gap on leaders Norwich.

Muñoz, a surprise selection with little previous managerial experience has since managed to forge a team. Maybe, helped by having the players and stability his predecessor didn't have. Watford have surged up the table with a formidable run of wins broken by the occacional draw or loss. Three crafty Pozzo bargain signings also helped to beef up options, especially with Zinckernagel, Sanchez and Gosling adding to the midfield. Hughes and Masina back from injury has also helped.

On reflection the style has been chalk and cheese from the two managers but I personally think with hindsight Ivic did well to steady a rocking ship at the start of the season too. Muñoz, however, has certainly built on that with sixteen wins, three draws and four losses in his 23 games so far.

    ENJOY THE GAME.

All reports from Millwall tonight suggests that they were not at the races against Bournemouth. Let's hope that they don't suddenly get a burst of wanting to play on Saturday.

Our home advantage should tell. However, that is unusual for a Millwall team. I don't expect the same on Saturday.

Draw between Brentford and Bournemouth means a draw for us might be enough ?

If we can win our remaining 2 home games, we will have amassed 59 league points beating the 58* achieved in the 1977/78 season (*assuming 3 points for a win).

Securing promotion is the objective for Watford on Saturday but a win will also equal the club record of 18 home wins in a season, set by Graham Taylor's Division Four title-winning side in 1977/78.

What does that say about us fans if one of our best ever home seasons is when we aren't even in the stadium?

Probably that we are disappointed not to be able to witness it. Flippant I know. :emoticon-0105-wink:
I do think that teams that play away games also suffer to an extent by being in the unusual situation of not having fans throw abuse at them. As for what effect it has on the refs would be an interesting study.

I’d like to think with fans we’d have the same sort of record but then one of the 2 defeats came v Cardiff !

No HIVE coverage for me this week as it is being shown abroad. Should mean that a stream will be available, but not sure what language it might be have for the commentary.
