In our case it means having a poor 1st 11. Substitutions aren't mandatory... If you've got your best 11 put there then you get the game won and change if you have to. We're not in the position of the bigger clubs, so we shouldn't try to be. Bruce makes subs for the sake of it imo
I’m not bothered, won’t watch it, but I’d go 433, have a flatter back four with Clark lb and Krafth rb, with Fede and Schar in the middle. Probably have Hayden holding, Willock and almiron right and left ahead of him, with Joelinton, Max and Murphy left to right, max playing more like a false nine. But only one false nine, mind. This isn’t a million miles away from our best spell vs Leeds. I’d probably prefer Shelvey to Hayden. Would keep Lsceles, Ritchie and Longstaff away as they’re sub par: Clark in left back as I think we should play a more defensive four to stop leaking goals and Ritchie/Manq leave gaps. It’s basically having five defenders and five attackers but a means to transition.
It didn't look too bad the other day.. Less were the side rolling around wasting time I think pre season wasn't good, so it's a good thing they're getting up to speed now
Nah. And won’t be watching, because we’ll rock up with a stupid formation of 541, concede, go 433, look confused, and if I was watching I’d just get utterly infuriated.
I think they're capable of winning the game personally. I think we're going to to see 4 2 3 1 or certainly something different, but it's Bruce's bloody player selection im most concerned with. I think nufc fans have become overly negative though.... There's no reason why they can't win the game... West and leeds have been very entertaining ... Man united wasn't bad either really until late... The Southampton draw isn't a bad one and the fact is villa are better than us.
I agree with everyone else, we will be going down. We havent got a manager as of this moment. His lack of action or reaction is the sign of a defeated man. Hope he dies
I'd personally go 5-3-2 -------Joelinton---ASM-------- ---Almiron-Hayden-Willock---- Ritchie-------------------------Manquillo --------Clark-Lascelles--Shar----- ----------------Darlow---------------------- I don't see the likes of Willock or Almiron working in a 4 man midfield. It's needs to be a flowing midfield to allow them time up the pitch, especially if our only decent goal threat is ASM.
That’s the same **** that has us in relegation territory, and that let Leeds overrun us for over half an hour until we changed. I’d go: Joelinton - ASM - Murphy Almiron - Hayden - Willock Clark - Fede - Schar - Krafth Darlow Joe and Murphy will drift wider but both can carry the ball. ASM can almost drop into “false 9”. Hayden just sits and gets it out to Willock or Almiron for rapid transition. Clark and Krafth at full back because we have zero need for attacking from there. A flatter back four will be much more beneficial to us than having the full backs leave gaping space. This is about fast moving, attacking football that doesn’t leave us exposed at the back. We transition from 5-4-1 to 4-3-3 in passages of play, and we can press further forward without being exposed. Joe and Miurphy both work hard and ASM is left to just explode into the match on the attack, we don’t need him tracking back.
He was getting in the way when newcastle were about to score the other day. Held his ground didn't even try to move
