Woudn't I just. Can't see it happening any time soon though. I'm hearing it's not only a written apology being demanded, but lavender-scented Basildon Bond full vellum notepaper to be used for it.
No, boycotters are self defeating. Bleat all you want about having the Allams gone, but 5k fewer occupied seats don't exactly sell the club as a going concern to a buyer. Does it? Just support the lads on the park. Is it really that hard?
Whilst the Allams going would see a bump I just don't see that alone meaning attendances will return to 18k+. For a team who's just won a first league title since 66 and has some awesome prices, 6.5k members is embarrassing.
I know what you are saying , and once you are in that league all you can do is try and win it , but having to compete in that league to start with from Where we was is the embarrassment , and is not going to be enough to get people back. I really struggle with the amount of power that league title seems to have given McCann and in some quarters , The Allams .
Err, its a comment about boycotters and why i for one wouldn't hate them coming back - as its more likely the Allams will be gone sooner if they do.
I know, but it would be funny watching the 'boycotters' scrambling for other excuses not to go and still retain their 'credibility' on t'interweb.
They will always have an excuse not to come, be interesting to see them flock away again the first time the new owners do something they don't like
McCann had the rug pulled in the january. The contract situation with the senior squad which Darnborough and Ehab were responsible for was principally the reason for the collapse. Yeah he was a bit inexperienced handling the media - but even Ehab accepted it wasnt McCanns fault we got relegated and took the responsibility on himself at least implicitly by not sacking McCann. I have no issue with the plaudits to McCann for turnimg it around. For the 18 months of his tenure he's actually had a hand to play he's done okay - well even of you consider the backdop hes been working against. No-ones really handing Ehab any plaudits as its obvious that wasting so much income from the position we were in is ultimately at his door. Just some of us were pleasantly suprised he backed McCann in L1.
