Franky i was just happy we were back in the big league and miles away from the bottom of L2, the high court and not locked out of the ground - which is where we could end up again of this bloody-minded madness continues.
Huh? You said there weren’t many actual boycotters? Only 1 for every 20 people who stopped going for other non Allam reasons according to you (so roughly 400ish. Can’t see that would affect buyers much?)
5k was someone elses figure. Whatever the number is, - and given our historic flaky support (im sceptical its 5k, but happy to beproved wrong) the current vitriolic impasse isnt doing anything positive to attract a buyer.
Time for this again - PS Just for info, despite the number of pedantic ****s (you ALL know who you are) on this thread, no one's changing anyone else's mind. FFS
Huh? I was being generous and using the higher figure in terms of championship attendance drops since the name change debacle and your figure that only 1 in 21 people who aren’t going are boycotting. So according you you 400 max are boycotting…but you’re saying their bloody mindedness affects the sale of the club? Doesn’t compute?
I think theres a lot on the boycott bandwagon who use it as an excuse but wouldnt be going anyway. Yeah. I expect there'll be a decent bump when the Allams go but i also suspect well see a repeat of the same cycle ive witnessed since the Robinson era as far as long term averages are concerned. If you want to be pedantic about numbers then you would be making a rough judgement same as anyone else. Id love to be proven wrong and we saw a healthy, loyal attendance this year that made us attractive to a buyer though.
It was a senile old man chucking his toys out. There was never any chance they'd walk away from 50 million inverstment in 24 hours for nothing. Its ridiculous to think they would.
I’m not being ‘pedantic about numbers’ I’m literally quoting you You said only 400 people (max) are boycotting, and you also said that those bloody minded boycotters were making a sale less likely. That seems highly unlikely to me. sadly you would also be proven wrong if there isn’t a healthy attendances this year due to more than 400 people actually boycotting
I think we should all let bygones be bygones, draw a line and look forward to a bright future. After all, it's only a game when all's said and done. I'll be happy as long as I can sit and watch all the games live, in a pub via a dodgy stream.
I suspect we'll have similar crowds this year to the last time we were in this league at BP. Now the shine has worn off the 'new' stadium and the premier league is old news we could just be reverting to type again. Is that thousands of boycotters boycotting or is it thousands of fair weather supporters losing interest as weve seen before at City? Please do prove that theory wrong. Buy a pass.
Let's be clear, the reason we don't get bought has NOTHING to do with whether or not a few hundred or thousand return. It's all to do with the ridiculous asking price. A £24m gift turned into £42m debt (plus £1m a year loss making smc) and next to no tangible assets to show. Best run club.
It was naive to take literally the 'gift' statement or the 24 hours thing. There were 40+ million reasons at the time that was bullshit, but it was no more grandstanding than plenty of other directorshabe done and they dont get the same flak. Duffen came out with some utter cack as did practically everyone else whos ever owned the club
