He was told that a week ago and only got a day off. To be honest I quite liked the 1 day flat season.
Feels like only yesterday I was moaning that the Lincoln isn't even run in Lincoln anymore. This kinda puts all that in perspective a bit. I say that only half jokingly. I'm wasn't even around when it was run in Lincoln, but it probably was only yesterday that I was moaning about it being run at Donny.
SUNNY LAD 40/1 Happy Valley 2:15 Had three runs, one at two and two at three, for John Gosden and achieved a BHA rating of 92. Now starting out for new connections at HV, Form figure of 1/12- so he has won on seasonal debut both times. He hasnt particularly impressed in barrier trials thus far but hopefully he will have acclimatised by now. Regardless, he looks pretty well treated today. I took him at 66/1 yesterday evening thinking it was just a silly price but he is now attracting good support and is a best price 40/1. It could be they have been holding something back and are having a punt on him first time up today.
Do they have access to online bookmakers in Hong Kong? The two racecourses in Hong Kong both operate tote monopolies, so piling loads of money on just reduces the return. There certainly won't be any social distancing in the eight storey grandstand at Happy Valley as the Chinese are gambling mad. It is an amazing setting for a racecourse, surrounded by skyscrapers. I never got to go to Sha Tin in the New Territories because there was no fixture while I was there.
Same here stick. OI've doubled up yopur selection with an aptly named horse if they both cme in. e/w double and single... 145 - What a legend 215 - Sunny lad. If they both come in Stick, then you will surely be (even more of) a legend
I had worked that out. Good luck. You suggested that they might be holding the horse back for punting purposes but that would only work if they had access to big prices off course overseas (no bookmakers in Hong Kong). If they stuck HKD 50,000 on at the track that would just reduce the tote return and they would still only win the same amount. The problem would be that the punters at the track would see the odds shortening on the screens and pile in as well making it worse.
You dont think any of these HK racehorse owners have betting accounts in the UK? In fairness it is probably the fact that a lot of people like myself will have seen an ex Gosden horse and thought that looks big!
They may have accounts overseas but will they be able to access them from Hong Kong? I guess they could call a friend in the UK to place their bets. When I went to the States recently, I took a tablet that has the Bet365 app on it. When you try to run the app, it checks your location to determine whether you are in a country where you are allowed to bet. I am guessing that in Hong Kong it would be blocked. They could take the ferry to Macau... Sorry the horse ran like the odds.
I thought you would be cleverer than that! If you are abroad firstly DO NOT USE AN APP. Use a VPN and sign in to your betting account from a laptop or ipad. If you are using a mobile use your 3G or 4G network and turn your wifi off.Access your betting account old school via google. In some instances the first option is not guaranteed. BET 365 for example seem to prevent you logging in using a VPN somehow but option 2 (mobile phone) is 100% with every bookmaker I have tried.
