That moment can't come soon enough! :emoticon-0148-yes:although beginning of October is when i count the jumps season starting.

All being well our boy will be running end of Sept/beginning of Oct. He will be going over fences so am very excited about what the season will bring as a novice chaser.

    Uttoxeter 3.20 Dandridge

Not that long with Charlie Longsdon since connection bought him in 2018 for 42.000. Best runs were over 2 m 4 f + on fast ground which Dandridge gets today. Uttoxeter suits prominent racers. I'm sure Charlie Longsdon will soon find the key to get this one back to the winners enclosure. Nice each way chance today in my opinion.

    Good luck

Just out of interest how does this sort of thing work? Do you just put an amount after the race and go up against anyone else who may have bid, like a silent auction? Or is their a price tag put on a horse before the race?

Immediately after a seller the winner will be auctioned off and sold to the highest bidder. Just a normal auction like the selling of furniture or fine art. Existing connections can, of course, bid to retain ownership. If ‘no bid’ is received the horse just goes home to his current stable.

The remaining runners in a seller (or all the runners in a claimer) can be claimed at a value set against the horse by the trainer when making the entry. If more than one claim is received for the horse (and current connections can submit a 'friendly' claim) a ballot takes place and the 'winner' gets ownership. It’s often worth keeping an eye out for horses sold in either of these manners – especially if you think one has gone from a yard you consider poor to one you deem much better. The 'claim' by The Good Doctor earlier in the year for Black Anthem would be a notable example of this,

Growing up I saw numerous selling hurdles at God’s own racecourse, Newton Abbot, and it was one of the things that really got me interested in the sport.

The winner will be sold provided the auction reaches 3,000. Any other horse in the race can be claimed for a minimum of 8,000. If there are two or more claims for the same horse the highest bidder gets the animal.
Not tempted to buy Squire but tempted to back him off this mark.
I am tempted to have a leg in Foxtrots new horse MARRACUDJA.

    3.35 Gowran Park

Royal Dornoch seems a good bet at 7/4 for this race. The second favourite Edward Hopper is 12 lbs behind on his best run so far and Brook On Firth was disappointing next time after beating Edward Hopper. Royal Dornoch was nothing special on debut but ran better next time before finishing behind Golden Horde and Threat in a Group 2. 7th of 8 when probably helping out stablemate Arizona in the Group 1 Prix Morny, he faces nothing like that level here and even his Morny run might be enough to land this maiden today. I didn't expect 7/4, so despite uninspiring looking 0237 as a form line I think he sets a strong standard today.

    3.35 Gowran Royal Dornoch 7/4

    hi fellas!

    southwell,4 10:

hard to split the two main players here, but SMART GETAWAY gets a narrow nod,as shes a course and distance winner already, and though beaten at short odds last time out, should make amends today.

on current form,it might be best to concentrate on the top two here, and though lalania is much respected,i think,LEO MINOR is too well treated to ignore.his last win last year came on a rating in the mid8ies,and though not so good so far this season, hes tumbled down the weights, and his trainer is a dab hand with sprinters,so a better show can be expected today.

hard to tell, who will come out on top here, but a tentative vote goes to the twice raced SELECTO.he stepped up on his debut effort, with a solid 4th at newbury, and the winner is pretty useful,so with a jolt of improvement,he should be firmly involved today.

Basically the question I asked when Dan at Foxtrot mentioned him to me a couple of weeks ago.
