Looks like rain will be preventing any outside work for yours truly this weekend. Probably doing a top down clean of chez Grove and starting to clear things away ready for when we unpack Christmas again. I might need to reposition things in the imaginary Man-Cave as the kids are using it a lot more these days (senior junior on Netflix on the feck off big TV and junior junior on the drums) and it looks a mess. Might try to get my hands on the new Gibson Standards at some stage, still not sure if I am going for the more vintage correct 50's style or the slimmer necked 60's version please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Might have saved up enough to get one by next summer!
Car showrooms looking at cars tomorrow followed by a meal in a rather up market French Restaurant. Sunday, gotta play 5 a ****ing side in the morning ffs then pub for the afternoon. I shall spend the rest of next week repenting as I'm playing football rather than attending church service. FTFP
I was thinking of heading up to Nottingham to see my daughter, but the flooding up there is giving me second thoughts. It's a shame really, as the Christmas market opens today. I may just have to do something else. Any ideas?
I think I may have mentioned this before to you, but I can't remember your answer. Why does your house always need major work done to it every weekend? It is as if you are GC's very own Stig of the Dump.
Not everyone on here is a home owner, some people have to move every 6 months from one over-priced hovel to another where the landlord takes care of all the repairs. Being a home owner who has undertaken a number of redevelopment projects there is always something that needs doing in and around the house. The man-cave faces South so the front of it gets very weather beaten and I have been fighting an ongoing battle with resinous pine, I had hoped to finish this off during half term but it pissed down for most of it. Jobs at The Grove Residence as follows; Paint man-cave Seal newly finished slate paving outside self same shed Clean and seal remainder of existing paving and rear patio Dead head plants over winter and plant new bulbs - possible Mrs Grove job Kitchen needs painting Lounge needs painting Kids bedrooms only got a cursory lick of paint after we had the loft extension done so both could do with a proper job Settlement cracks - newly decorated areas need a touch up Front drive needs weeding - another Mrs Grove job Longer term Get drains sorted if they block again Re-level front drive (will not use Pikeys again) Re-pointing to front of house as areas are patchy Renew pebble dashing as non-matching areas after various extensions Cyclical painting every 5 years or so depending on wear and tear Install heat recovery in Fritzl chambers, costing me a fortune in electricity
I own ma own home and pay other ****s to do all that ****e. Even got a cleaner comes round once a week. ftp
That's ok, listing the jobs has been very beneficial and puts things into an order. Being from a construction background I can do most of the jobs myself, that way I can afford to purchase £2000 guitars. Do you get one of those nude cleaners*? Do they mind if you watch them cleaning and have a w.ank at the same time? *female obviously, I'm not a poof
No you perv. Even poor people have cleaners these days. Mine is an old girl does about 4 hours a week and gets £50 quid for it as I'm a generous employer. Probably wid too if it wasn't so inappropriate.
My "wee hoose" as its being called now will be finished next week hopefully. Spark out today, painter out the weekend and mastic man hopefully next week, garden nearly done now too. Julie wants to go to Costco and buy new tellies. Hopefully be balldeep in the stink over the weekend too.
