I think his physical presence will be useful enough, just need to get and then keep him fit. He also brings a passion to play for the club, something we have been lacking for a while. Michael Owen's comments have highlighted the mercenary nature of modern football in the last week, can we honestly say the players we have had eg, Thavin, De Jong, Joselu, Rondon etc played with passion and desire that we expect? The nearest we have had is Mitrovic, although he signed for us probably 3 or 4 years too early, at a point where his passion wasn't quite backed up by his ability.
Trying to put a positive spin on it, it's not his fault his body is not cut out for playing sport!! (I think the treatment rooms of his past clubs are proof of that). If he was a car, he'd be one of those kit cars that only comes out of the garage when the weather is just right, but needs lots of maintenance and has very few miles on the clock.
I still hold that selling Mitrovic was a short sighted decision. I think Owen was a special case scenario even when compared to the usual mercenaries. According to Nile Ranger he heard Carroll did his ankle at West Ham because he was out on the piss and fell over.
Wait ****able Dundee is Chaos? That's ok then. I was genuinely thinking "who's this nob?" Now I know it's you I know you don't actually intend to be a nob.
I've had Mr. Dundee on ignore for a while now. His keyboard threats of violence terrified me. Makes the threads more interesting for me. It also demonstrates whose chain is easily yanked. International breaks bore me to tears, but I can't say I'm confident about enjoying the game this week.
Oh. And a fit Andy Carroll (and hungry -no play = no pay) would be second name on the teamsheet each week.
