Town set to sign Wes Burns from Fleetwood, is this the lad that play right wing back and caused us loads of probs, if so.... potentially a very good signing:emoticon-0148-yes:

If he's coming to play right back, we already have KVY so it's a bizarre signing. If he's coming to play up front, he doesn't score many goals so it's also a bizarre signing.

It's a great signing because yes Spanish, he was the one that caused us loads of problems.

There's nothing like aiming high, and this certainly is nothing like aiming high, but as always we give the lad a chance.

I can’t remember who it was but in a recent interview whoever it was said they monitor a player over a hundred + matches, not on the strength of a single match.

He was at Brizzle for part of his career so maybe we’ll be building a squad from their and Wigan’s cast-offs!

The 9 minute interview with Ashton was hilarious.
You poor sods, whatever you do, don't believe a word he says. Ever.

I don't know much about the lad but positives are:

    1. We've signed a player for a fee. Apparently we were in competition with Coventry
    2. News broke that we might sign him today and we signed him today. Can't remember the last time that happened. Shows what can be done when we have staff in place with experience of transfer deals.
    3. He has played for Fleetwood consistently at this level for a number of seasons, so has good experience but at an age still with much to prove. When was the last time we signed a player who wasn't either injury prone, a youngsters with potential, a player on his last contract or a player from lower leagues who had 1 good season? Whilst it might be underwhelming and on paper this is exactly the type of signing we should be going for.

Bristol City have been overachieving for a while. I think the bitterness is just a lack of perspective.

A good signing in my opinion. Mid-20s, been in-form over past few years, good character, and was in-demand with rumoured Championship interest from Coventry. This is exactly the type of player we should be signing. I think those expecting established, big-name Championship players are going to be in for a summer of disappointment.

A very good signing from the club, if it goes through. Affected by injuries last season, but did well in the Championship for a run of seasons. He should also be approaching his prime years, as he's 26. Both Evans and Burns are free signings and I don't have a problem with either player - in fact they should definitely improve the side and will likely go straight into the starting line-up (unless KVY is fully fit). Great recruitment so far, something we've lacked for years.

The new goalkeeper kit is yellow. I wonder if southcoast fancies a bit of letter writing to ensure this is the one and only season that the club make that mistake.

Promising signings so far, ones that Paul C has obviously earmarked.
