1 by us 2 by the away team 1 was the Danny Simpson song plus seeing him smile while we sang it 2 I’ll have a think, there have been some fine insults over the years , possibly Chelsea singing “ we forgot that you exist ..”
We’ve got Karl Connolly!!! You **** your family we hate Chris Wright, we hate Chris Wright, we hate Chris Wright... he’s a **** he came from river plate, he’s Maradonna’s mate... Paduuuula
We are pretty poor when it comes to songs aren’t we??? By an away team I rather liked it when Crewe came to us once when near bottom of the lowest tier, League Cup game I think. They sang “the football league is upside down” which made me chuckle and rather respect them.
Blue is the colour football is the game, poor old Mathew Harding he should have took the train I’ll have to think for an opponent’s song
I did like the Millwall one about Bircham. Went something like: His got a lion on his arm, his a got a lion on his arm, his got a lion on his arm. His got bird **** on his head, his got bird **** on his head, his got bird **** on his head. This went on and on in a midweek game at our place.
Best chant was 1987 game “oh when the R’s go marching in” (slow version) the whole ground singing made hairs on neck stand up. Easily the Wall chant to Birch was a classic. Still laugh thinking about it.
That was the loudest I ever heard the away end when I sat around the halfway line of SAR. 3000 obese market traders and cab drivers on the gear since lunchtime. Superb. Think the game finished 1-1 after the black guy they had (Andre Serioux?) who took long throws got sent off for throwing the ball deliberately at someone’s face. Edit- Adrian Serioux and it was Lee Cook who got the ball in the face which probably explains his performance hosting the Saturday night quiz.
Chim chiminey Chim chiminey Chimchimcher-ee Who needs Sol Campbell when we've got ****tu! After chanting 'sheep sheep sheep shaggers' on a visit from Cardiff, had to smile when, in the last ten minutes they chanted back; Four nil, to the sheep shaggers, four nil to the sheep shaggers!
Reminds me. 'Di Canio, Di Canio, we're gonna win, when Rangers sing, Di Canio'. Can't recall the game but we were behind, started singing that and came back to win. Happy days.
“Six foot two, eyes of blue, Stevie Wicks is after you” Those were the days. Who cares what the other fans are singing
