Last season we played a 5-3-2 formation and looked completely disorganised and no one really knew what they were doing and got our butts kicked 4-0

Fast forward to tonight and the difference was night and day...

Every player knew there job and stuck to it for 90 mins. We hounded them down and stopped them from playing, we doubled up on their flanks to stop any crosses from coming in. We made sure their throw ins didn't cause us any trouble and got physical when we needed to.

Well done Pardew, you've learnt from your mistakes and were spot on with your tactics tonight <applause> and well done to the lads, they made us proud tonight <applause>

Yea we've been praising the likes of Jonas and Ba for their magnificent performance but Pardew's role in this excellent result shouldn't be forgotten.

Got the tactics spot on and we defended their set pieces like I've never seen a side defend them.

Never though I'd say this but : ALAN PARDEW'S BLACK AND WHITE ARMY!

IMO the team performance was perfect; determination, concentration, commitment, organisation, communication, it had the lot. IMO that was an even more determined performance than the second half against Arsenal at home last season. That's how good it was.

It was ****ing excellent. I'm not one to get carried away but that was one of the best and most determined Newcastle performances I have ever seen full stop.

Pure class. I think not only Pardew, but John Carver and Steve Stone deserve heaps of credit

Everybody was a winner tonight. Praise too for the travelling fans who outshouted and made more noise in general than the home fans.
