Well done on your flash-in-the-pan season mate, but Rangers' fan base swamps Leicester's and that's a massive draw to broadcasters.

 

Not too difficult fella when at the current time there's only one side in Scotland ( two next season, with yourselves) and even Celtic would struggle to be mid-table in the English Championship !
As I understand it Waghorn is your star man ?
Mate, he wouldn't get into our reserves let alone a seat on the bench !
So yes in principle you do have a bigger fan base than us but not Newcastle or Villa or even Forest ?
The latter two having had more success in Europe than yourselves as far as winning European trophies btw !

Most of your arguments are immaterial from the broadcasters' point of view. They're more interested in the number of viewers a team will attract - the more viewers, the more they can charge advertisers. In any case, a few seasons getting the same TV money as Premiership teams and any difference in quality would soon disappear.

Not sure where you're getting your figures from but, of the teams you named, only Newcastle narrowly edge Rangers in terms of average home attendance. Rangers piss all over the other 2, and that's despite playing in the lower leagues in Scotland for the last few seasons. Imagine what their figures would be if they were playing Premier League opposition every week.

With an average attendance of 15,000 less than you and a bigger viewing audience ( worldwide) the truth of the matter is Celtic need Rangers and vice verse because the average attendance figures I posted earlier are pitiful ffs West Ham are moving into a 60,000 stadium next season, so that puts them head and shoulders above you guys and what about Sheffield Wednesday ? 50,000 capacity at Hillsboro... there for big club, yes ?
