She was looking at holidays in the Maldives the other day as she couldn't believe how cheap they were. She then said it would be a good time to book flights to see our family in SA. a) I doubt travel insurance would cover any holidays booked at the minute b) We are not risking getting stuck in any place other than Chez Stan until there is a vaccine readily available
I wanted to go to a Greek island for 10 days. Doubt very much I will entertain it until there is a vaccine. Most likely is see if I can borrow my mates vw camper with awning and do a tour of Dorset, Devon and Cornwall and take the dogs. Or possibly the gower.
Where abouts in Spain were you meant to be going? I reckon Benidorm will open back up in the next month.
Alicante, old town. Didn't book it myself so don't have to deal with the **** show of refunds and/or alternatives. Kinda glad really, been there too many times, was just a week for me and the old man but we'll do summin else when it's all good to go again.
We're supposed to be going to France August and think it'll be ok. Keep seeing comments that France and Spain not allowing tourism for rest of 2020 but am ignoring that until it becomes fact, with some justification seeing as it's the usual social media spawned stuff. That's a massive industry to kill, right there. Doubt it'll happen, unless the virus simply is not quelled. Be having a couple of weeks in blighty otherwise. And will be utterly gutted in the process. Did that last year and it was **** by comparison to be absolutely honest.
It’s nice in the old town. Stayed there for the last night of a holiday last year. Some great bars and restaurants.
That’s the problem with any holiday here. I don’t think I will go of pubs aren’t open. May as well sit in my own garden drinking rather than a deck chair on a campsite. If travel restrictions are lifted will defo pop down to the gower with the dogs even if just for a day out as they love the beach.
Yeh prefer it to the strip tbh. There was a great liytle cocktail bar there called jekyll and hydes, run by a jock couple. This was a while ago now like not sure if still there. They had a cocktails of the world menu. And bar games and drink tricks and stuff to keep you entertained. Country flag and then cocktail for it. I went for the Irish one cos it was the only **** that came in a pint glass. Bad decision in the end
I assume I was in the old town as everything was old. There’s an old castle right by the hotel I stayed in. I went to two cocktail bars where there was a back street just full of them. I don’t remember too much as had a proper all dayer as met my mate off the cruise ship at 11am drank solid til 4, power nap and back out for the night. Ended up a dribbling mess eating a kebab on my balcony overlooking the castle.
I’m doing fish chips and mushy peas. Though annoying the chips are going to have to be fries as thought I had lots of potatoes and don’t.
