I saw the third pirates of the carribean at the cinema and that was truly awful. I have no problem with far fatched entertainment but they forgot the entertainment bit. Hugo was the last film that I saw at the cinema that I thought was exceptional and, like DT, I mainly hunt for oldies now (re-watched Papillon for the first time I years recently and loved that).
I put a claim in for some brownie points as the other half watched Mama Mia ... what a load of rubbish. Nodded off twice. Obviously popular with a certain audience ... I just don’t get it at all, dire throughout for me; 90 mins I’ll never get back.
Does anybody bother with the “50 Shades..” films, or do you, like me, know that they’ll be complete and utter bollocks without having to actually watch ‘em? I’m on the Malbec, so more inane ****e soon...
I don’t like the Star Wars movies. Overrated twaddle, badly scripted, poorly acted cartoon ****efest.
Yeah, as I posted earlier, I tend to only watch films that I'm fairly confident I'm going to like. 50 Shades, Star Wars, any superhero bollocks - all ruled out.
I highly recommend Logan as a superhero film that will surprise you. And Guardians of the Galaxy is very funny and has a killer soundtrack. I spend too much time on planes. Almost by definition most films, TV programmes and books are rubbish. Now the days of being trapped in cinemas with young offspring are gone like you I don’t waste much time on crap films. The films (and books) that I can’t stand are the Harry Potter bilge. The acting of the main child characters was laughably bad, and the writing abysmal.
Never seen a Harry Potter film or read a word of any of the books. I've always thought it slightly odd to see grown-ups reading them on the tube. I'll take your word about Logan, but still can't imagine watching it. Looking forward to the Laurel and Hardy thing.
