Pretty sure they've been on the pitch together for Morocco. Certainly in squads together.

Both typical Deeney finishes- powerful and hard .

And did us a favour too - Reading would have overtaken is had they won.

Now we only have to worry about Deeney and Brum - they're just behind us now.

He seems to have got himself fit after a couple of years of injuries

I wonder how he would have fitted in With Sarr and Pedro now

Certainly as a target man if we needed a goal.
Maybe another reason to doubt our medical team - seems to be pretty fit now!

4-4-2 with Deeney and Joao as the 2? Wow. Sema and Sarr on the wings? We’re straying into Cally, Barnesy, Luther and Big Ross territory, aren’t we? Could have been bloody magic, that.

I think the issue is Deeney can still do a job in this division, but not in the Prem, and that's precisely why we let him go. A shame really, because I do think he could do a job for us now.

I agree as a No.9, but he was a super No.10. He had presence, could hold up, lay off, and have personal goal threat too, all of which No.10 skills are invaluable to a his No.9. But I agree with every word of your post. <ok>

He almost got too big for the club mind, he was terrible last couple of season in general too on the pitch.

Now he is back to full fitness it seems, which I think is making the difference. Plus, a drop down a league too.
