I predict it will be announced around midday when Portugal do their part - make yourself a cuppa mate and chill mate
Apparently the hold up is FIFA clearance - everything is done from the UK and Portuguese side. Turns out that Silva withdrew from the Portugal vs Faroe Island match to join us - hopefully will be worth it.
Something isn't right though, if a deadline was missed then there's not a lot that can be done. Would be like FIFA to be corrupt as **** and then be jobsworths over something like this. I don't get why it wasn't done simultaneously with DD going. Either way we are what, 18 hours on now and not a peep. But @BigFox and I are stupid people for expressing that we wanted the Drinkwater move to hurry up
#lcfc confirm terms have been agreed for the transfer of Adrien Silva, subject to international clearance please log in to view this image http://leic.it/2wphVaI
FIFA have got 30 days to do the international clearance - bet they are waiting for a "donation" to their Christmas party fund.
We have plenty spare from the difference between the Drinkwater and Silva fees! I feel happier now the club have put a statement. They'd have egg on their faces and serious reputations damage if they missed the deadline and ****ed the transfer up anyway but if they put out a statement on top of that and it gets refused, heads would have to roll
Back to my original post ... where's .... .... Why is this so painful for us . He may turn out to be ahmed musa, papy mendy... but until the deal is done we will never know
Spanish window has now closed, no suggestions of Mahrez signing for Barca. So he's either gone to join the rest of the Algeria team or is still in the airport. ...
He wanted away, we've known this for a good few months, the thing with him staying is that its only going to piss off Grey more cause he won't see an increase in gametime unless Mahrez downs tools until January.
He hasn't so far to be fair to him, unlike a few others....Costa et al. His attitude and application have been commended. Now that might've been to get interest in a move and if he still wants away to Barca and command a fee we'll accept be needs to put in some blinding performances until at least January. Grey needs to stop reading in the media he's a world class wonder, he's not and stop acting like a sulky kid who can't have all the best toys because he's stamped his feet.
Mahrez simply has to play out his skin - he's played well and no one wanted him. If he plays worse, he'll get dropped and be even less wanted
the best thing is, we do seem to hold all the cards as there aren't many scenarios 1: plays incredibly well and leaves 2. Plays average and no one wants him 3. Acts like a dick and gets dropped and no one wants him
This is my worry - Gray will have a mardy fit because all the interest in him will believe he is entitled to a starting place rather then earning one
Riyad Mahrez NOT in the starting XI for Algeria for their match against Zambia. Still not clear whether he is actually there.
