I also wanted to add Alexander Tettey & Duncan Forbes to the list but unfortunately I ran out of space.

Gone for Bradley Johnson, but equally could have gone Holt. Because this squad needs someone tough who is going to rile the opposition, and not accept any slacking from our team. We're too nice and too soft.

I also maintain that Johnson in that LM role where he bullied full backs physically would be really helpful for us. We need an outball when we can't play out from the back, and there's nobody in the current squad we can target with a long ball really. Full backs are normally short and slight these days, so making them compete for 10 headers a game with a Bradley Johnson could be fruitful.

Good question this. Might be an unpopular opinion but i don't think many get in ahead of our current squad. I could see a spot for Bradley Johnson in the current formation and I'd argue a prime Hucks is an upgrade on Rashica / Tzolis but not sure the others make it.

I went with Holt because I think he would drag the team up by it's bootstraps, but having heard my dad talk about Martin Peters or Martin O'Neill perhaps either of those.

With Emi now gone I'd bring back some of that Wes magic to help unlock opposition defences and supply Pukki with the chances he needs to score more goals, just like he used to do with Holty. Could also score goals from midfield

The comparisons are difficult because the skills levels in the PL are so much higher now but I went for Chris Sutton because of his ability to create space and time on the ball and his natural goalscoring ability. I'm old enough to remember Martin Peters who I admired profusely, but I doubt that he had the defensive side to his game the modern midfielder needs and I'd have the same doubt about Huckerby and others. BJ had that in spades, but his lack of pace would would show in the PL today. Holt lacked pace as well. Many of these players we remember for their success in the Championship rather than the PL - Holt had 28 goals in the Championship and 14 in the PL, for example.
