Hi guys after the “what team” thread I have been studying NBA closely I have chosen the kings because I like them. Now having studied the teams and after KingslandKate made this comment “I'm not quite sure who to follow.Miami Heat & LA Lakers seem to be the Man Utd's/Chelsea's of the NBA with a lot of people following them.” This got me thinking For myself as much as anyone else what Premier League/Former premier league team are like what NBA teams and this is my conclusion I have only chosen Premier League/Former premier league teams and given a team for all of them please have a look and tell me if you agree/disagree Atlanta Hawks - Sunderland (trying to get good players, but still not doing very well) Boston Celtics – Liverpool (won a lot some time ago and little success in recent years) Charlotte Bobcats – Wigan (won nothing major and new team) Chicago Bulls – Arsenal (big history faded away now) Cleveland Cavaliers – Everton (Had big names but had to sell them, little success in recent years) Dallas Mavericks – Tottenham (Outsiders pushing for the big time) Denver Nuggets – Fulham (selling club pushing for better and starting to achieve it) Detroit Pistons – Stoke (relatively small club, some success) Golden State Warriors - Aston Villa (Big city some success) Houston Rockets – Blackburn (were at the top now just a middle of the league team) Indiana Pacers – Bolton (little success in recent years but not a bad team) LA Clippers – QPR (overshadowed by there city rivals) LA Lakers – Man U (Huge fan base, big names the glory hunters team) Memphis Grizzlies – Wolves (could be a rising team if they don’t lose players) Miami Heat – Man City (big names joined, starting to get success) Milwaukee Bucks – Norwich (not sure what they can do, need to buy well) Minnesota Timberwolves - Portsmouth (in the rebuilding stage after getting rid of good players) New Jersey Nets – West Ham (season at the bottom and will be pushing to be better) New Orleans Hornets – Wimbledon (new beginning, after horrible years) New York Knicks – Middlesbrough (loss of good player rocked them) Orlando Magic – Newcastle (success but not the big one yet) Philadelphia Sixers – Sheffield United (Old club lots of history but gone down the pan) Phoenix Suns – Blackpool (Exiting sport but not paid off yet) Portland Trail Blazers – Leeds (huge following for relatively little success) Sacramento Kings – Nottingham Forest (Good history but not a big team) San Antonio Spurs – Chelsea (consistently a good team with successes) Toronto Raptors – Swansea (club from different country no success) Utah Jazz – Hull ( one of the most unsuccessful teams at the big time and lost good players now) Washington Wizards – Bradford City (used to be a good team now are low down in the order)
This made me laugh, great article mat but let's have another mud and at the end of the season! Come on you Jacks
New to NBA, who is the big oplayer that left the Knicks leaving them compared to Middlesbourgh (tough for anyone to take)
that should say players and Ewing is the player he was there best and took them to loads of play offs and almost to be NBA champions but he left and they fell into decline
I'm loving the newcastle - orlando comparison as they're both my teams in their respective sports (well magic & the bulls really, back from the glory days of jordan & pippen, loved those 2)
Chelsea have got to be the knicks huge fanbase little success till recently and buying glamourous players most of the rest are spot on, same as beardsley i support the comparisons Bulls and Liverpool perhaps i'm a sucker for history.
