Got round to checking the Dipper board comments when Sturridge fell over in the box. Guess who...? "Ref has #bottledit #nailedon pen"
You are not getting it. In that instance I would be screaming for a penalty, because the rules dictate in that instance that a penalty be awarded. What I am talking about is instances where its not a foul, or a penalty, or anything at all yet people are calling for penalties. Literally everytime a Spurs or Liverpool player get touched, the folk on their board are screaming for the opposition to be sent off, castrated, decapitated, "every ref is **** and is shocking!" etc etc If Astro had his way, Liverpool would win every game 8-0, having converted 8 penalties against 9 man opposition.
This ^ Contact is now deemed as a foul by many. It's not, if there's no tackle and it's merely 2 players colliding while running at speed, that's not a foul, as there's not been any attempt to make a tackle. If it's pulling back or a deliberate trip then that is foul play, but there's numerous incidents where there's no deliberate intent merely 2 players colliding and you get clueless pundits, fans and some refs shouting penalty.
I take my boys to watch Swansea City fairly often and the main focus of a majority of the support there is to claim for free kicks and bookings. All game. When it's clearly not a foul all you hear is people shouting "referee!!" They are just constantly mithering for free kicks, it's noticeably more than at any ground I've ever been.
Funny enough my lad was told by a Swansea Academy coach that if he feels contact he should make the most of it. I had taught him the opposite and to be fair to the lad he told me what he had said and that he's not listening to him.
I am getting it, I don't think you are getting what I'm saying. People on a football forum use it as a way to vent frustration through a match. In the moment is completely different to looking at a match retrospectively. When I am watching Spurs I'm supporting them from a spurs point of view. I will just call fouls against us as that's what most fans do. I don't afterwards sit there and think, this player or that player should have been sent off, or weren't we hard done by or oh we lost because the referee hates Spurs or whatever. You are just criticising heat of the moment reactions from passionate fans. Anyway that's enough on this it's boring now!
The weirdest thing about the whole thing is that I personally tend to actually watch the game, not piss about posting rubbish on a forum when it's on.
Yeah, during the game I wont post often if at all. Too busy drinking beer and shouting at the tele. Post at half time maybe and only maybe right after the game as there's too much bollox talked right after the game.
There's only one or two who are OTT in general it's a busy thread which is good. We need more opposition fans on there though to get the bantz going.
Don't see him that often, nothing wrong with any fan coming onto a thread it is an open forum after all, some forget that. I wish more would pop onto match threads I miss the carnage of the old cross match threads.
When I'm watching at home on my own when I can't get to games, then I like to share my thoughts with similar minded people. Lots of people do the same. Match day threads would be a bit sh*t otherwise
I just use them to discuss pre and post match. I'd just rather watch a game than write about it and miss most of it while I'm doing it!
I post when stupid things are happening on the pitch such as the 8th replay in a row or attending to some diving Kant. Lol...its not that difficult.
There are plenty on there OTT during match threads @donga darko happily admits he's mentally recorded EVERY so-called wrong decision against Liverpool in every game during his lifetime of following them, the bellend. And he honestly believes this is a badge of honour There's only about 3 who know how to bantz on your match threads and if they're not on, it's best just to point and laugh at the absolute idiocy in the irony of the posts!
