Now that we are in the Premier League we all have an opportunity to display irrational negative attitudes to a whole set of different teams. So who is it that you would really like us to beat next season, ignoring the fact that we would like to beat all the teams, twice. I really want to beat Everton. As a lad I quite liked Everton, but now my dislike of them is well and truly in the irrational column. There are perfectly reasonable reasons to want to beat them - the Cup Final, the penalty against us given for heading the ball - but what really annoyed me recently, were the comments from some of their supporters when we won promotion last week.Who don't you like in the Premiership?
What did the Everton fans say? I went on a few forums and most didn't seem that bothered either way/quite welcoming with a few having a little dig/moan about our current ownership/loan situation which I guess is to be expected. The London/Midlands clubs were quite pleased in terms of travel and location of course - and have to say nearly all wanted Bournemouth up. I'd say Leicester were the most negative - no surprise! Cannot say I really dislike anyone - Newcastle fans are a bit up themselves baring in mind they've won basically nothing for decades. Big crowds yes but they are a one club city so like Leeds should expect to get such big crowds. Spurs can be bit cocky considering they aren't the most successful side in recent times either.
At the moment, Burnley and QPR - but not for much longer... I'd really like a repeat of the famous 7-1 scoreline when we meet Saints - their fans on these boards seemed to adopt a superior than thou attitude towards everyone else as they were moving up the leagues...
To say I dislike one team or another is a bit of an odd one. Most of it could be put down to jealousy in the direction of the real moneybags teams. The rational says Everton for various episodes notably the cup final and a 4-5 home defeat, let alone the penalty decision. Totally irrational teams to dislike are Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion, quite why I know not - that's the irrationality.
Following their promotion today I caught myself thinking I bet they give us the (disliked by me at least) MK Dons on Boxing Day.....and then I remembered!!!!! On that basis difficult to dislike anyone until we get there and then lots of wrong referring decisions, dives and premier league fans looking down on us will no doubt start off the dislike list - but that's all in the future!
As long as we gather enough points to stay up, I don't especially mind where they come from, but I would like to get one over on Rodgers at Anfield. Assuming he's still there when we play them...
Palace for me, even more so now with Pardew in charge. Not a massive fan of Sunderland either due to their board on here reading a bit like a BNP/NF manifesto...
Not a big fan of the Premier League full stop. Awash with money, welcoming of dodgy owners, arrogant about its quality, poorly governed and with little concern for lifelong less affluent fans. I love to see WFC do well but a small part of me thinks we're joining a club I don't want to belong to. Showing my age probably
Exactly- well put. Having said that, I'd love to stay up for more than one season this time. PS Not keen on WBA. Got a kicking there in the 80's. Reminiscent of recent events just up the road from West Brom, and makes me realise how lucky I was to come away just with bruised kidneys.
