I read it in your own post!
He said: "But as the seasons wore on and Graham's influence in the squad dissipated, Wenger's failings became exposed". This is entirely consistent with the fact that Wenger's signings alone have never won the league.
As usual HIAG's critics don't seem to know their arse from the elbow.

Bergkamp was signed by Bruce Rioch, the only players who were still around then were parlour and Keown, who were both bit part players, and left the club that summer, Keown needed 3 sub appearances in the last 3 games to qualify for a medal (think you needed 10 appearance to get a medal).

    So it was negligible then......
    ok
wow Bergkamp was there that long....
    11 years....a long time.
I forget the order of Arsenal managers, I was like 13 when Wenger joined, seems to have always been there to me.

There's a load of hogwash being spoken here especially from captain hiab and his hapless cohorts. There's not a manager in premiership history whose won a title with all his own signings maybe with the exception of old red nose. One things for sure Spurs have won **** all title wise with any manager in this premiership age.

To prove you are talking ****, below is the squad of the invincible season, please show me how many of those were signed by Graham and how big an impact they had on that season to say that Wenger achieved nothing of his own accord! If you insist on thinking still the same then I pity you as you cant seem to grasp the difference between the Claims the #bottler is making and you falling on your arse to back up his claims that are wrong from the start!

I mean you could even say one of the players in that season who wanted to achieve something big in his football career and had a big impact left a small club in North London to join a Big Club in North London and achieved his dream and made history in that invincible season....<whistle>:emoticon-0102-bigsm

Yes - you are completely right but so is HIAG. He didn't make any claim about the relative value of the various players just that as they diminished so did Arsenal's success. I happen to think that Wenger has done very well at Arsenal, much better than any previous manager but it doesn't alter the FACT that his signings alone have never won the PL which means that HIAG's observation is correct.
It's stuff like this that gets me - on previous form there will now be ten pages of pedantic rubbish, trying to prove that HIAG was wrong when he has been clever enough to phrase his claim in a way that is consistent with the facts. He knows the facts as well as you do but still has you running round posting lists of players. It's like shooting fish in a barrel!

Why 'Ouch': that claim is completely true except in referring to Spurs as a 'small' club which is so ridiculous as to be hardly worthy of comment.

Two inane comments: Ferguson definitely did and the reason no-one else has is because managers don't last long enough to do it. If you look at Ferguson's record it gets better as the squad becomes his, the opposite of Wenger's.
And yes we all know that Spurs going through a bad patch coincided with the PL era and the masses of money going into the CL clubs but why that is relevant to a discussion about Wenger's record is beyond me

Really so the squad got worse and he achieved the invincible season early on in his career at Arsenal right! Quite funny how you dismiss that....

Context mate. Besides your London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea you're minnows.

You need to win a Premier League Title to be worthy of discussion these days <ok>

What he actually said was this

the only reason Wenger won anything, at all, of any real note is down to the fact that he inherited George Graham's team.

Which has been shown to be utter bollocks. As pointed out that in his invincibles team only Parlour and Keown remained and played bit part roles in that season.

You defending HIAG over this, makes you look as foolish as him.
