Why are England so poor a ball retention

    Even Xavi, Iniesta and Fabregas have Busquets sitting behind them as the "safe" option, Busquets doesn't move much (apart from when he hits the floor of course) and yet he's still an essential part of that midfield, Carrick's movement going forward may not be as clever as someone like Scholes but he takes up good positions defensively, is comfortable in possession and can keep the ball moving without losing it.

    Busquets is miles better on the ball than Carrick though, he interchanges passes with the others seamlessly. When Carrick gets it he is slow with it. Carrick has a blockbuster shot and good long range passing, but thats not what England need.

    Hard to believe we're still arguing about selection - they're all as bad as each other. Only Wilshere is any good and he's crocked.
