It looks like Shrewsbury Town are going to be the first English club to install safe standing. The Premier League are currently surveying all clubs, including Liverpool, with a view to getting the law changed.
You have to wonder if some of our fans actually read about things before posting or if they read things but don't fully understand them? "22 hours ago amberloyal yes terraces should be brought back,as long as plenty of crush barriers, many fans stand at the kcom in the north and east stands and all away fans stand,it would definitely improve atmospheres at all grounds and it should be cheaper to stand, also fans that want to sit can in peace in an all seater stand, the present situation does cause arguments with fans who like to sit surrounded by fans who like to stand and sing,i think the kcom would be great if the north and south stand were standing areas.UTT."
http://talkradio.co.uk/news/liverpool-fc-fans-back-reintroduction-standing-17073116864 Liverpool fans are for it, but does that include the Hilsboro families?
88% of Those who voted did so in favour. Some of those families will have agreed, some will have disagreed. No doubt it will be like a vote taken last year and those on the losing side refusing to accept the vote. It is apparent that many, including the fan of ours I quoted above and some police came council officials around the country don't fully understand what safe standing entails.
Sky Sports News @SkySportsNews .@shrewsweb are set to launch England's first safe standing area at New Meadow in 2018 after reaching a crowdfunding target. #ssn
Standing behind the Goal . Always hoping it would come back. Hopefully when the ALLAMS have gone and concessions are back.
You can have any type of standing outside the top 2 divisions. Even the old fashioned unsafe type us oldies enjoyed at BP and elsewhere.
Looks awful Filey. How do all the kids, OAPs and the relatives with health problems who can't stand up for more than a couple of minutes we have so many of see what is going on?
Both sets of fans next to each other on Saturday Though a few got kicked out and every Cop in Scarborough was called to ground at end of game to escort Hyde fans onto their coaches The previous home league game some old git ran on pitch to attack the ref
I love it Barchullona and I am falling to bits Standing is no problem it's just walking that knackers me if I walk far Singing Shouting Banter All make for good atmosphere . I would hate going if there was no noisy gits I go in shed end but had been for a coffee when I took that photo.
Quite agree, Filey. Was being sarcastic. Can't stand too long in seated areas (keep having to sit down but don't object to people around me doing what football fans should be doing, being exuberant and making a noise in support of their team!) but could with the rails in safe standing to lean on. Lots of scientic research has found the ideal height is the height of the bar at my local where I can lean for longer than a game, plus extra time and a penalty shoot out.
I knew you was jesting I would never tell anyone to sit down it's so easy move Had it a few times at city away games some bloke grabbed my neice and tried to sit her down Bad idea I wouldn't mind I told him there was loads of empty seats in a lower area with sit down fans . Could not believe it when he told me he had paid for that seat and he was staying in that seat Anyway he sat all glum all game Stupid fool
