Martyn Starnes intends to stand down as the clubs Chief Executive Officer.
The board is engaging recruitment consultants to find a successor.

I met Martyn Starnes at a function couple of years back. Seemed a solid bloke, no bullshit and well briefed. His tenure has coincided with a good period for the club, so he must have contributed to that in some way.

Also two new directors being sought...hopefully they will have a little extra cash in their pockets. If we make the Championship more cash injection is a must. Possible exciting things ahead. ;)

Saw an interesting piece in the paper.

Bournemouth's gate receipts are only one fifteenth of their total income in the PL. Most of the lower midfield group have gate receipts of one fifth or less of the total. The vast bulk of income comes from TV rights.

The giants with big stadiums and season ticket waiting lists still have gate receipts of less than half due to shirt sales, international internet activity and other marketing stuff on top of Sky's pieces of silver.

Presumably the balance in the Championship is similar but less pronounced.

So there is money up there but the task remains to punch above your weight in the transfer market by clever dealings and not bet the farm and lose it.

Shock news as didn't see a signing coming. Argyle sign Paul Paton who was released by St Johnston in January as a free agent. Cover for injured players which says to me they are likely to be longer than we would have hoped for. Goes straight into the squad at No.30.

No idea about this bloke. He is 30 years old and has been caped by Northern Ireland according to the Herald. Oh well best of luck to him and lets see what he is made of when he plays.

There had been talk that maybe now was the time to find a free agent.....Sarcevic having a groin op probably means he will miss most of our final run in.

Paul Paton has played all of his football in Scotland, has qualified to play for N Ireland......defensive mid-fielder who his 30 years old, 5ft 10 in.....has played 120 of his 355 matches in the Scottish Premiership.....spent most of 2015/16 out with a knee injury.......I assume Derek Adams knows him from his time in Scotland and feels he can do a job for us.

Been reading a bit about Paton and the consensus is he is more like General Paton. Seems to be a bit of a tough nut with attitude. Not a bad thing in this league.
